Shira

Shira is a creation of the Quarry's master Smith, Arnskar. Shira is an artificially created spirit, produced by Arnskar's own soul as well as a lot of technique, magical knowledge, and metallurgy known only to Arnskar himself. Unlike others of her ilk that Arnskar has forged, Shira does not require a host dragon to survive because she can gain energy from the heat around herself.

Shira is able to draw thermal energy from her surroundings to fuel herself, but even with the amount of energy she absorbs, Shira must still rest within her blade for periods of time. Over the years, this timing ended up corresponding to the sleep cycles of the clan. Shira has ended up essentially sleeping during the night within her blade, collecting heat to use the next day. Exposure to larger sources of thermal energy empowers Shira greatly, allowing her to stay awake longer and even use more powerful Ice magic.

As a result of Shira's passive and purposeful absorption of heat, the Quarry is cooler than it would be normally. Even during hotter temperatures, the Quarry stays unusually cool. The more heat there is, in fact, the more energetic Shira gets and the more energy she absorbs in response. Shira is singlehandedly able to shape the Quarry's weather. It is also theorized that if Shira were to be exposed to a much more tropical, or even just thermally oppressive, environment, that she would be incredibly powerful. Arnskar is afraid of what might happen to Shira if she were to leave the Quarry though.

Shira is a cool and compassionate, friendly to most she meets. Shira likes to show off and be of entertainment. In a way, Shira likes to be seen, and seen she is. Shira is of a stunning white complexion and she sparkles like freshly fallen snow. Shira, besides her unusual appearance, also has a supernatural pull on nearby spirits and the magically perceptive. She is very noticeable, in other words, beyond what her body allows for.

Shira, as a spirit and an intriguing magical being, has gained the attention of the Dreamer Silbern. Silbern, who is supernaturally perceptive of spirits, has found Shira quite interesting to talk to and to interact with.

Shira is one of those individuals that is a friend to all and enemy of none.
