Tetractys sheds her scales constantly. The keratin plates that cover her body start out a deep, glossy navy, but over time they turn as pale and lustrous as the bark of Starwood Birches, and peel from her flanks and limbs to reveal fresh armour beneath. The process is painless, but can look rather gruesome when a large sheet falls away, or when the segments on her face some loose.

Over time, she has come to accept this quirk of her physiology - but the disgust and fear of her fellow dragons has made her wary. She often takes refuge in sarcasm and sharp comments, to shield herself from their negative opinions.

Though it would be easy to assume from her attitude that she doesn't care at all for what others think, she craves acceptance and the opportunity to befriend dragons who can see past the strangeness of her skin.

Tyburn speaks in riddles - or so it seems. He delights in obscuring his meaning, using antiquated words and turns of phrase to confuse and confound everyone he meets. Perhaps so long living in the seemingly-infinite wilds of the Starwood Strand have addled his mind ... or perhaps the twinkling moon-flowers have gifted him with genius that the rest of dragonkind is too prosaic to see.

Dantu hatched on the longest day of the year, and loves nothing more than long and lazy summer days, basking in the heat of the sun. Dantu dislikes his native forests with their shady glens - so he left, and instead cultivates crops with only the open sky above his head.

His favourite plant by far is simple grass, and he loves haymaking above all else. There is nothing that quite matches the scent of field of sweet grass - though he can't decide whether he prefers the smell when it is freshly cut, or when it's cured in the sunshine and ready to be baled! His hay is a tasty treat for dragons and familiars alike through the lean winter months, when fresh produce is scarce.
