Biography

Named for Sanguinaria canadensis, bloodroot, only species in its genus. Its white flowers are cultivated for their beauty, but the root "bleeds" red, producing a corrosive toxin called sanguinarine that leaves a flesh wound called an eschar.

She is closely bonded with Celandine, one of a group of hatchlings that grew up together. She cares for and worries over her, and at times may be the one to drag her away from her books to the outdoors.
