From a very young age, Kaixuan had always been interested in combat and warfare. He would pester his mother to show him some moves, and practice on his unamused sister. At her wits' end, Chunfeng dug up a book she'd found at a flea market and gave it to him, hoping a bit of reading would mellow him out.

This book turned out to be The Art of War, a book of tactics written by a famous general. Like the greatest of literary works, it was written in simple, easy to read sentences. There were a few words here and there that confused him, but his father would explain them, then get him to read them aloud. Though most of the knowledge meant very little to him at the time, Kaixuan committed the book almost entirely to memory.

Through the years, the Zephyr Dancer has mellowed out significantly. He still carries The Art of War with him everywhere he goes, but he has also grown to be calmer, often pausing for seconds on end before each sentence. As soon as he came of age, his mother sent him off to apprentice under a famous general who served the Windsinger. Not exaltation, per se, but a sort of temporary internship with the deity. As their forces clashed daily with Beastclans and rival flights, Kaixuan learned to apply his knowledge in the real world. His mentor was the 'learn by error' type, and would only correct him if he made a grave mistake. By letting him see the consequences of his decisions, the general taught him to value dragon life, and see his troops as more than numbers on a map.

Kaixuan returned home a true military leader. He had participated in many a Dominance battle, and was confident in his ability to lead a smaller, more peaceful clan. In his arm, he carried his tattered tactical bible, its pages worn from constant reference. It was this sole belonging that he took with him when he set off for a new life in a new home.

But just as it is important to win a battle, it is equally so to avoid one. Behind the facade of the brilliant general lies the soul of a peace-lover. Before declaring war, Kaixuan will do all in his power to mediate both sides, reiterating the values of cooperation and appealing to their better natures. Only when he has exhausted all other options will he engage in true combat.

Outside of the war room, Kaixuan enjoys taking it slow and easy. You'll most likely find him sitting in a quiet corner of the clan, enjoying a cup of homemade tea or watching the sunrise. Woe to whichever dragon dares to sits beside him, though, because once he starts talking about the beauty of nature, he'll never let you go.
