Biography
Tenarith is the firstborn daughter of the clan leader and second-in-command and therefore unofficially considered the heir apparent, though no one has ever actually said anything on the subject. She's calm and reasonable by nature, and despite her status doesn't view herself as above others.
She's aware of the responsibilities that may one day rest on her shoulders, and does what she can to learn how to handle all clan matters smoothly. She spends a good deal of her time managing the clan's hoard in particular, keeping an eye on the supplies and informing gathering parties when they're in need of something specific.
For a long time Tenarith put off going on her Search, conscious of her duties to the clan and feeling that somehow her charge would find its way to her if she stayed in one place, but eventually she had to admit that she needed to leave to find her charge, and so her Search began.
She headed towards the Shifting Expanse, feeling drawn in that direction. After several weeks of travel she passed the border and met a friendly, though decidedly odd, clan that was willing enough to host her as she combed the vast desert territory. While there she met a tundra who also happened to be traveling, and she found she enjoyed his quiet company after a long day's exhaustive Search.
It took time, but eventually she happened upon a particular cactus while wandering the desert, and immediately she knew she had found her charge. It was a beautiful, healthy saguaro cactus, already in possession of two well-developed arms even though it hadn't yet reached its full height. As she stood admiring the perfection of her charge, she realized with alarm that its height actually made it a target for the frequent lightning strikes of the area. Convinced it wasn't safe there, she set about learning how to safely transplant it for travel and the best way to care for it in the different climate of the Windswept Plateau. She got advice on the proper lighting and heat requirements for it, and ever so carefully dug it up and escorted it back to her home clan.
She settled it in the sunniest part of the lair, though she was careful the spot she chose wasn't one frequented by Madness out of respect for the guardian who lost his charge.
Although she's as attentive to her duties as ever, Tenarith now keeps a constant, watchful eye on her precious charge as she goes about her business, adjusting the grow lights for it as needed based on the current season and weather.
