Bellona

To underestimate Bellona is to think you can fight against the wind; face it head on and you'll be pushed back, turn your back to it and your hair is going to get in your face, turn to the side and it'll make your ears ring. Bellona appears to be dainty and "frail" at first given her Skydancer nature, but she's a veteran fighter, warrior, and could most likely slice a fly mid-flight with her trident. It's absolutely no surprise that she's been appointed River Guard Captain- although not everyone will believe that she got that rank as a mere teenager, you her than her peers.

Bellona is, as all Skydancers, naturally proficient in the art of flight. She's become obsessed with learning the in's and out's of aerial combat as a result, as she claims that she cannot be a true warrior until she's mastered fighting on foot and wing. And, given Bellona's extremely dedicated (and stubborn) nature, she's begun pushing herself to limits many think unwise. An example of such is flying all the way out to the Southern Icefields in an attempt to adapt to flying in subzero temperatures, and during blizzards. Another instance is when Bellona will fly HIGH up into the sky, way past what most Skydancers can achieve, and she will stay there until oxygen deprivation begins making her woozy.

All of these training stunts have now permanently left their mark on Bellona, in the form of permafrost forming on her wingtips and feathers. She takes hot baths to eliminate the inconvenience before each training session, but whenever she comes back, she's always frosted over again. This has earned her the nickname "Verglas" by the older members of the River Guard, as rookies and other clan Members would rather not make her annoyed for their own safety.

So, my first thought the instant I saw her was that "she looks like she's about to rain some serious hell". The second instant was when I saw her name, to which I paused and had a vague thought about Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series, which means chances are that's the name of a Roman goddess that I vaguely recognize, if I'm hedging my best right - considering her outfit and vibe, probably some kind of war goddess? Very stand-out, stubborn, can kill you with a single stern glare, but probably decently okay once she deems someone to not be a threat (though she'd still be pretty stiff in demeanor).

Bellona is highly athletic. She enjoys swimming the most, and will race others through lakes and across rivers. When she wins, which is usually the case, she is very dignified and quiet. However, this is only because she internalizes any smug thoughts she has, since she believes it is inappropriate behavior for the Protector of Vitality and Goddess of War to brag. When she loses on the rare occasion, she gains some respect for her opponent. Of course, she will make sure to seek them out for a rematch and compete against them with even more aggression the next time they meet.
