The memories of his childhood were vague and clouded, but he remembered clearly the warmth of the Wyrmwound wrapped around the translucent shell of his egg, and hands cradling him as he writhed in the pustule he grew in. A soft and low voice hummed to him strange words he couldn't understand, but they left him feeling calm.

The air was cold when he broke out of his shell, slime heavy on his body. A true-born resident of the diseased lands he was born on, a Mirror with sharp, jagged teeth ready to dig into the flesh of meat and jaws scratching at the wet lands below. There were many dragons around that took care of him, old and young, and occasionally he saw a giant figure crawling around, humming in that low and soothing sound.

Mother.

Scourge was the name bestowed on him by the dragons that watched over him. A befitting name for when he would grow up.

It didn't take long for him to leave and explore on his own -- explore the lands he called home. Animals pulled away from him, what lushness grew wilted under his feet, even the Beastclans didn't take the risk of attacking the sole Mirror. He came across dragons in his travels, but many were put off by the aura he exuded from his body, the jagged twisted teeth that poked out, and the four eyes focused on them. He was Death.

Wandering the lands alone soon bred loneliness within Scourge, growing up being surrounded by worshippers of the Plaguebringer had made him used to a group dynamic, and here ... no one wanted to stay by his side. He eventually returned to the Wyrmwound, but Mother wouldn't take him back, she merely guided him back out into the world. It was not his time yet.

There were clans that consisted of Plague dragons, but the ones he had come over had patriarchal and matriarchal rulings, and he did not want to be governed by another dragon -- he would rather tear throats before taking orders.

A scarred Ridgeback was the first to not be scared off by him -- perhaps his appearance was offputting and she was wary, but she remained stationary. A Mirror prawled out from around her, eyeing Scourge up and down rather intensely as she circled him slowly.

"You stink of the Plague," she growled softly, one which Scourge couldn't deny. He was born in it, it ran through his veins and the land under him died at his touch.

"I was born of Plague, I am Plague. ... One who seeks a clan, for Mother will not take me."

There was some hesitance about bringing him in, but soon the two (he found their names to be Neniadea and Aedinius) brought him to the outskirts of their clan, their head soon coming out to meet him. Scourge had to explain himself, who he was, what he did, where he came from.

A trueborn representative to Plague ... but before he could even step inside, he needed to be examined, see what the extent of his decay was. Small plants died in his touch, rodents convulsed violently before falling still as flesh fell off their bones, larger animals got sick ... dragons seemed to have the smallest side effects to his touch, Faes had it the worst: they threw up, got cold chills, and were drained of their energy. Imperials merely felt odd, like a headache, or a twist in their stomach like they ate something unpleasant.

So he was taken in as a new member, another one of their representative of Plague they would send out ... though he was kept for more ... intimidating missions and trades that needed a tough hand. Although he was one of the more vicious species living on the land, Scourge's size was laughable at best, so he sought the help of the mages and alchemists of the clan to change him into something else.

He soon embodied the body of a Ridgeback, large and grand -- though his skin couldn't take the toll, his body was not made for this. His flesh became see-through in areas, charred bone appearing from underneath, teeth exposed, acid seeming to pour out from cuts. It didn't hurt, no, but he was leaving a mess when he first transformed. Now the oozing has come to a stop, and Scourge enjoys using it as a way to unsettle other dragons that are new to the clan or are ones they're negotiating with. His appetite as a Mirror has remained with him even after his transformation.

Gaia keeps him far away from her plants. Gross.

Scourge is so scary and gross looking which I absolutely love! I especially love what the accent does to him. He’s got some really impressive art in his bio as well!
