Dragon Log
Born on Halloween from a brewed egg, this little one is already showing signs of his personality--and of the not-so-subtle influence of both his birthdate and his egg's creation. Within an hour of being born, the Clan's first-ever Bogsneak had befriended an Algae-Bottom Slarg, coaxing the shy creature out of his hidden place in the hoard only a few minutes after they met. Now the Slarg is happily bonding to his chosen dragon, while the young Bogsneak attempts to charm Spellweaver and Runemaster into teaching him how to use a cauldron....
12-15-16: This dragon is still exploring--both the lair and his own personality. Having befriended both Spellweaver and Runemaster, through a shared interest in wild experiments, he has now gone on to form a close bond with the Clan's returning Fae dragon through a shared interest in Alchemy. The combination of those two powerful interests lead to two equally powerful results: A new look and a permanent name.
An experiment involving brewing an alchemical compound in a rune-charged cauldron--all while imbuing said compound with some rather strong pure magical energy--was the catalyst for this change, as the experiment had the completely predictable volatile result... and when the dust finally settled the Bogsneak discovered that his compound had "eaten away" some of his scales, revealing a beautiful golden color underneath. He is quite proud of his new Underbelly, and even more proud of the name that Spell jokingly addressed him as soon as she realized what had happened. After all, who wouldn't want to be called a King? Now all he has to do is find a name for his Slarg. Hmmm... maybe Poison? Or perhaps a name of an alchemical element....
12-27-16: The arrival of a new dragon in the Clan has Reggie quite excited: There is now another Bogsneak for him to pal around with! Verdigris is already calling AquaRegia his brother, is more than willing to aid him in his newest experiments, and even offered to try to come up with a name for the older Bogsneak’s familiar! This is one friendship that has gotten off to a wonderful start…
1-25-17: Reggie has, for the moment, put familiar naming on hold in favor of a much more interesting pastime: The welcome of the newest Clan Member, a pretty young Bogsneak named Cadmia. She is an absolutely lovely dragon, with a wonderful personality, and AquaRegia cannot wait for her to become old enough for him to explore certain possibilities. Now if only her dratted birth brother Verdigris would just leave them alone....
2-15-17: While Reggie was enjoying himself showing the extremely appreciative Cadmia around the lair and surrounding areas, he also introduced her to his Algae-Bottom Slarg companion. Cadmia was quite impressed, and joined Reggie in playing with the Slarg every day. This playtime had the predictable result, and now the Slarg has Awakened! Reggie is ecstatic for his friend--all the more so since this means that the Slarg can now take care of himself without help, giving AquaRegia a chance to devote more time to getting to know Cadmia...
4-23-17: Reggie’s first Wavecrest Saturnlia has had a wonderful start: He has just attracted the benign interest of a Bubbling Goblin! The little being seems absolutely fasicanted with him, and AquaRegia can’t wait to tell Cadm--er, everyone back at the lair--about his good fortune….
7-10-17: Despite Reggie's efforts to get Cadmia alone, her birth brother Verdigris has proved extremely adept at keeping them apart--or at least at making sure that there are always other dragons nearby. Reggie is seriously contemplating asking Runemaster for some pointers on alchemist runetraps...nothing permanent, of course, just something to keep Verdigris occupied for a few hours and allow AquaRegia and Cadmia some time to themselves...perhaps a nice rune triggered knock-out gas?
7-20-17: While Reggie's love life appears to be stalled, his bonding with his familiar is most certainly not suffering from the same problems. In fact, the Bubbling Goblin has Awakened! Reggie is very proud of his friend, and extremely hopeful that now the Goblin will be able to help with his planned delaying tactics for Cadmia's brother....
1-31-18: Persistence does, sometimes pay off. Or in this case, attract the attention of a sympathetic dragon who can help. It appears that several months ago, Meteor conceived of the notion of competing in the Sornieth Winter Games this year...and she wanted some alchemical aide to do so. So, she offered Reggie a bargain: Get her what she needed, and she would ask Verdigris to help her to train, opening the door for some alone time for AquaRegia and Cadmia. Reggie was gone to Baldwin the very next day, and back within the week. Now Meteor is competing in the games, and Reggie and Cadmia have had almost three whole blissful Verdigris-free months. ( ) It seems that it's a toss-up who got the better of the bargain...
3-24-19: AquaRegia is a little startled today. He had gone to play with his Algae Bottom Slarg, but accidentally made a wrong turn in the caves when he got caught up in the alchemical recipe he was reading. As a result, he ended up in a completely different area of the hoard...and now he has a Greatshell following him everywhere! How did that happen?...
6-10-19: The Greatshell has Awakened at last...and Reggie has discovered that the venom he secretes can be quite useful in the alchemical concoctions the Bogsneak is currently trying to make. Well, at least his newest companion is proving helpful. Now all he has to do is figure out a name…and find something to soothe the Slarg's sore ego while he is at it....
12-18-19: AquaRegia is growing restless, and has decided to go exploring for some rare, Plague-based Potions ingredients. Along the way, perhaps he will stop in on Cadmia's old home and see where she grew up...
12-20-19: Upon arrival at Cadmia’s old Clan in the Abiding Boneyward, AquaRegia was greeted by two very familiar faces: Phyrexia and Aphelion, the young Guardians who had left his own Clan shortly after being born, to journey back to the Clan of their parents origin. The two young mages are extremely eager to see an old Clan Mate, and bubbling over with so many questions about their friends that Reggie may be here for moonturns just to answer them all…
…And this might be a very good thing, at least for a little while, as Reggie has been “drafted” to help out a Nocturne female who had been found wandering the Abiding Boneyard and brought to Cadmia’s birth Clan. Amara is close to laying eggs, but their father is gone, and the small Water-Adopted Shadow Dragon is terrified at the thought of her hatchlings being born in Plague Lands, with no father’s magic to ground them. Fortunately, the solution was simple enough for a budding Alchemist with some very unusual former Clanmates. It took Aqua (as Amara calls him), Phyrexia, and Aphelion only two days to make a concoction that would tie the Water Bogsneak’s magic to the eggs, so that the hatchlings would develop linked to him, rather than to their lost former parent. Interestingly, Anthrax, the Clan Leader, seems very pleased by this development, and has even offered a prominent spot in the hatching grounds for the new eggs to be incubated…
12-24-19: Aqua’s “children” have been born: Three beautiful daughters. To the undying relief of their mother, Amara, all three are clearly linked to AquaRegia, magically and otherwise, and the problems she feared have not manifested in any of them. Even better, the little ones have caught the attention—and affections—of Hellebore, the Snapper who is one of the two that looks after the Hatching Grounds here. With all three of Amara’s daughters capturing the Snapper’s heart, they will definitely be safe until they need to leave…
1-4-20: BaradMorn was saying something strange today, right after that Beastclan attack. Something about “visiting water giving the answer” or was that “visit water to give answers?” Whatever it might be, Anthrax seems extremely interested in Orchid’s interpretation, though as an outsider, AquaRegia himself has not heard what that interpretation was…
1-10-20: AquaRegia’s daughters are now safely on their way to his own Clan, and he had planned to leave with them, but Anthrax has asked him to stay and help with some things around the Lair. It would be impolite to refuse…
1-18-20: Aqua is feeling quite odd. Perhaps he should not have drunk so much of that special brew last night? But everyone in this Clan had been drinking it, so it must have been fine…Still, his head is spinning a bit. Perhaps he should lie down…or maybe he should see if Amara is alright. She’s much smaller than him, what if the effect was worse on her? Yes, he’ll go find her…
1-23-20: Amara’s newest daughters have been born, and Aqua is a little unclear on why they all seem to be his daughters, as well. Perhaps he should be more careful about what he drinks in the future. It seems that his Arcane-oriented body and mind are not adjusting well to Plague home brews. Ah well, at least his new friend Hellebore is happy with three more hatchlings to fuss over, and Amara’s friend Tang seems pleased as well…
2-24-20: Much to AquaRegia’s shock, he is once again a father, this time to two handsome sons. But even more shocking than this event is the strange dreams he’s been having: He could have sworn that last night he returned to his own Clan, and saw his young daughter, now calling herself Vitriola, practicing alchemy with Nebula, while the Clan Healer, Spinel, checked out Aqua’s oldest son. Oddest of all, an anxious Cadmia was hovering in the background, determined to ensure that everything was alright with her “niece” and “nephew.” Cadmia even told Reggie that she hoped he was treating Amara well, and she wanted to meet her “sister-mate” as soon as he was done with his “task” and ready to come home. What could this dream mean? Perhaps he should speak to Orchid about it…
3-23-20: This is beginning to get worrisome. Another three hatchlings have been born, two girls and a boy, all with Aqua’s magic linked to them, declaring him the parent. Did he father them? Or did Amara take that potion again? He can’t remember…
4-22-20: Aqua has had heard rumors that some of his Clan were at the Mistral Jamboree, looking for him. He is not really sure why they thought that he would want to go there, as he doesn’t really have a tie to Wind, but it was nice to hear that the Clan is concerned, even if they don’t need to be. And hearing about his son, now named AurumFulminans, was even nicer. Maybe he should consider staking Amara back to the Stafarll Isles soon, perhaps after their newest two sons are old enough to travel…
5-17-20: Amara has, once again, placed eggs in the hatching grounds. Aqua is now very worried. He cannot remember how these four came about at all, and yet the eggs are literally vibrating with his magic. It looks like he is having some very odd reactions to the food here, causing his memories to become unreliable. And if they are affecting him, how is Amara handling it? He will need to speak to Anthrax soon. As fun as his time here has been, it really looks like he and Amara need to leave. This area of the world just doesn’t seem to agree with him…
5-22-20: Aqua and Amara are heading back home, to AquaRegia’s Clan. Anthrax was understandably worried about them crossing the Abiding Boneyard, but in the end he agreed that if they felt so strongly that they needed to go, then it is best they answer the call. Their newest hatchlings, 2 sons and 2 daughters, are going with them, excited about seeing new sights. In fact, the little ones have gone on ahead with their mother, eager to begin the journey. Aqua will catch up to them in a minute, right after he thanks everyone in Cadmia’s old Clan for helping them out for so long…
5-23-20: It is good to be home! Although it’s also…odd. For some reason, Nebula took one look at him and Amara and immediately dragged them both to the Healerie, where she began talking quite animatedly with an increasingly agitated Spinel. And Verdigris was positively cold to poor Amara for the first half-hour, only to become almost solicitous toward her as soon as Nebula dragged him into whatever discussion she was having with the Clan’s Healer. Reggie cannot for the life of him figure out what is going on, and his head has been pounding ever since Spinel gave him that odd-smelling potion. At least Amara is alright, if a little overwhelmed at all the attention. Now where is Cadmia? He really needs to talk to her….
5-24-20: How on Sornieth did this happen? Somehow, Reggie and Amara accidentally swallowed a Love Potion, keyed to each other! The poor Nocturne is absolutely miserable, and Reggie himself isn’t sure what he’s thinking right now…except that he really wants to throttle Anthrax…
5-26-20: Reggie is stunned! Verdigris had asked to speak to him, and told him that he is giving his blessing to Reggie mating with Cadmia! After so long, they can finally truly be together without worrying about Digris trying to interrupt…though they will have to talk about what to do, now that Amara is here. Reggie really is fond of her, and this whole situation truly isn’t fair to her…Perhaps…maybe…they could share?
5-28-20: After a long talk with Cadma, Reggie is feeling much happier. It seems that his wonderful mate had already anticipated Amara becoming a part of their life, and has no problems with it, as long as Amara can accept a “sister-mate.” Now, all they have to do is convince Amara to agree…
6-3-20: Amara has moved into the Potions Cave with them, and AquaRegia can’t be happier. His two mates have become fast friends, bonding over their mutual fury at Anthrax, BaradMorn, and Orchid, and already think of themselves as sisters. Even better, Verdigris is happy again, and has even started to be friendly to Amara, treating her like another member of the family. Considering how easily Amara was ensnared by that concoction in the Plague Clan, Reggie is not at all unhappy that his “brother” is being so protective of his second mate. It really is the best way this whole situation could have ended, for everyone…
6-14-20: AquaRegia and Amara got a bit of a surprise today. Vitriola decided to indulge in her Dream Potion again, and managed to see all her siblings for a few precious moments. And what a sight! All Aqua’s children except five of the youngest have chosen their names, and one daughter, Loki, has left her mother’s Clan to move to a new home, and even gone so far as to change her breed to another! Best of all, Aqua’s youngest son, Skyquake, now has a new “brother,” to devote himself to. From what Vitriloa has reported to her parents, “Dreadwing” seems a very nice Bogsneak, and an excellent companion for the younger dragon. It seems that despite their rocky beginnings by way of that infernal concoction, all of Aqua and Amara’s children have found a place for themselves in their chosen Clans…
6-18-20: Sometimes it is possible to misinterpret dreams, or to jump to conclusion too soon. AquaRegia was startled anew today when his daughter Vitriola informed him that she decided to take another look at her siblings last night, using her potion, and their situations have changed again: While Loki and Skyquake are still content in their chosen Clans, the rest of Aqua and Amara’s children--including the previously unnamed 5--have traveled, en masse, to the Sunbeam Ruins, and now serve the Lightweaver in her ranks of the Exalted! Despite the shock of the sudden shift in futures for most of his children, Aqua is extremely proud of all of them, Clanbound and Exalted alike, and wishes them well in their chosen pursuits…
