Mate of Cheshire
History-

Curiosity killed the cat; isn’t that how it goes? Well, not so much in this story. In this story, Curiosity and the cat have a slightly different relationship. But one can’t say Curiosity’s story starts there. No. It starts long before that.

There was a Arcane clan that loved nothing more than magic. Magic was everything to them. It was a way of life. If you wanted any rank higher than a grunt, you had to be a Made, well-versed in your magic. Because of this, all members were taught to rely heavily on the forces of nature to keep them safe.

Curiosity was born to this clan. He received his name because there was never a thing in the entire world that he wasn’t curious about. He poked his nose into anything that looked like something other than a rock. And his mother loved him with all her heart. But there was something a bit different.

Though Curiosity had skill with using magic, he also liked to wander off during lessons and basically just be on his own. Therefore, he just did not fit in so well with the other Fae and Skydancers and whatnot. The thing was, casting was not part of his life. He only did it occasionally, and when he did do it, it was for a reason.

Eventually, the leader of the clan got annoyed with having Curiosity in his clan. After all, the whole purpose of the clan was magic. By not using magic the way everyone else used it, Curiosity was hurting their reputation. The leader went to the young Fae, and they consulted one another about what steps needed to be taken in order for Curiosity to fit in. When they could not come to an agreement, Curiosity came up with the bright idea to go his own way.

Having no other options, the leader allowed it and saw the young Fae off. Curiosity was happy to finally have freedom, but sad to leave his old life behind. He ended up in Shadow territory, hoping to discover new plants and animals and whatnot there, and he saw a dragon leading a group around the territory. He seemed to be… teaching them. Teaching them how to survive.

Curiosity, hence the name, was immediately eager to know more. He flew down and, in his most friendly demeanor, asked the dragon about it. The older dragon merely told him that he was helping the other dragons learn to survive in the Tangled Wood. Curiosity asked if he could join the small group. The lead dragon allowed it.

Later, they came to a place where a strange-looking dragon appeared. It was just a shape in the distance at first. Then everything cleared, and it turned out that the strange dragon was a certain Shadow. The Shadowbinder herself was in their presence. The three accompanying the Nocturne groveled, and they could only watch the exchange as a portal opened, and the teacher stepped through.

After that, the group stumbled upon a cave, where they met a young Fae. They told her their story, only to find out that the Nocturne was her father. After much persuasion, their guide's daughter agreed to take them to the edge of the territory. They began to set off again, when this time, Cheshire, the Fae whom they’d found in the cave, pleaded to go with them. They allowed it.

That’s when Cheshire and Curiosity fell in love. Cheshire fell for Curiosity’s charm, and he fell for her strong heart. The two could not have been more perfect for each other. They found their home in a clan in the Water element’s jurisdiction, and they hope to stay for as long as they possibly can.

Personality-

Now, it may surprise you, but this Fae is curious. Come on, don’t hide it. The shock is radiating off of you right now. On a more serious note? He can sometimes seem to be prodding or pushy because of his interest in certain topics.

If he feels someone is hiding something from him, he is suddenly determined to know what. For the most part though, it’s a friendly kind of curiosity that doesn’t bother anyone.

Curiosity is also a real smooth-talker. He’s really good at getting his own way and talking people into doing what he asks. Most would say that it’s just part of his charm, but he doesn’t seem to think so. Curiosity does have a way with the ladies, but when it comes to his lady? He is just about the clumsiest dork in all of Sornieth.

This young dragon always seems to know his way around, no matter what he’s doing, and even when he epically fails, he is usually pretty good at covering it up with an easy grin.

Curiosity despises humiliation, even that of others. He himself has only been humiliated a few times in his life, but he remembers each time in depth, and he can’t stand the memory of what it felt like.

Curiosity is also adventurous, always wanting to get out and see the world. It was his dream to travel through the territory of every elemental flight when he was younger. As far as that goal, he has four out of eleven territories under his belt.

The young Fae is always energetic though. As in, you will never hear him complaining of being tired, and he always seems like he’s a little overly-caffeinated. This leads him to talk very quickly and not think about what he’s saying as he’s saying it. Because of that, he’s pretty impulsive and sometimes makes bad decisions.

Nonetheless, he is extremely faithful, and he would never tell a lie, no matter what. He values honesty above all other morals. He also despises cheaters. He thinks that if you want to win, you should believe in yourself before you go off an try to cheat. It bothers him when he sees someone he cares about cheating or being cheated.

Curiosity is courageous, and he loves to greet every day in hopes of an adventure, alongside his beautiful mate, Cheshire. He couldn’t be a happier dragon at the moment.
