Phenteo is a wild, enthusiastic dragon, throwing himself into everything and anything that can grab his attention. Speaking of, he loves attention, preferring to be in the spotlight. He's at his happiest when performing or learning to perform.
He dreams of one day becoming famous, and has a tendency to act like a diva.

Phenteo got his start in an Ice clan, but he didn't stay there for long. Seeking a new life, he left his birth clan as a mere hatchling, and was captured by a dragon trader. Dragged into the auction house, he was kept in a small, cramped cage for several days. He was miserable there, one hatchling in a squalling mass of cages and chains, fed twice a day with the worst of foods. He was lucky that a large and glorious Nature dragon bought him and brought him home. However, even she could not keep him, and sent him into a Shadow clan to live out his life. He felt so blind there until his eyes adjusted, the shadows too thick for him to see properly. He finished growing up in that blackness, in a clan torn by war where the dragons wore coats of blood and medals of death. As the hatchlings around him died of mysterious illnesses, he only caught a cold, and entered battle training once he came of age. He became known for his ability to take control of a situation, and was much-praised for it.

That was when he got his addiction to fame.
Desperate to be recognized, Phen began to show off, and his battle skills became sloppy as a result. Several times, he was severely injured, and had to be carried from the battlefield. Worried for his safety, the clan took him off the front lines, placing him in charge of the hatchlings that he'd so hated. Dying babies were far from the audience he wanted, though, so he set out to find a new audience, leaving the clan.

Phenteo was blinded once more - by the Light of the Sunbeam ruins.

He was a nobody there, and found that the audience of this clan was much harder to charm than in his previous one. Disappointed in the lack of attention, Phenteo withdrew to a much calmer state of mind, mingling with other dragons like a calm and well mannered citizen.

An elderly dragon called Versiaz stuck with him for a while, but he wasn't much interested in anything beyond his ice eyes - "Dragons of Ice decompose more slowly than others - perhaps you should consider what that implies." The way he grinned when he spoke it, made it clear he wasn't implying anything pleasant, and Phenteo decided to leave shortly after.

He later heard rumors of Versiaz - known by others as a necromancer, one who was rising in power now that his clan had moved to his birth element. Phenteo was left with a feeling that he'd dodged a bullet.
