▸ Meriwether
Meriwether could spin the world into being on the tips of her claws. With a voice as bright as morning dew and soft as silk, she brings all of her highborn class into the tales she weaves, one word at a time, and not an ear in the clan can bear to turn away once she begins. Her skill reaches back to her earliest days, when she was groomed to inherit all the responsibilities her mother had borne before her. Diplomacy was paramount to her family's long success among the dragons of the Windswept Plateau, and between flying lessons and family meals, Meriwether's mother impressed on her that a silver tongue was golden. The proper words could sway kings, and the right stories could win over even the coldest hearts. Even better still, a tale well told was capable of creating entire worlds that might never exist otherwise. So Meriwether's mother demonstrated every night, a champion of bedtime stories for hatchlings everywhere, and Meriwether absorbed it all. With time, she rose in power within the family, serving as an ambassador to allied clans, armed only with her bright charm and quick wit. She made state dinners a breeze (oh, they appreciated that pun very much), and her arguments were among the most lucid presented, crafted carefully for the narrative at hand. Each passing negotiation earned her greater renown, and soon enough, her family had a stake in affairs all across the Windsinger's lands. Great riches came their way, and they prospered enough to invite other dragons into their fold. The number of ambassadors thus grew, and Meriwether was able to settle back for a time. In this way, she met her mates, Alexander and Quinn. No longer tied to the wandering life, traveling between clans to broker peace and prosperity, Meriwether had the chance to spend some time catering only to herself. Quinn she met first, as the captain of the guard spent much of his time devoted specifically to protecting her family. Their romance was an unsteady one at first; both were new to their roles and uncertain of how to dance around one another most appropriately. But ultimately, they fell headlong in love and accepted this fate, bringing two hatchlings into the world beneath their wings. Alexander entered the picture here, as the dragon tasked with educating the clan's children. Always devoted to giving his charges the best education possible, it wasn't unusual for him to frequently meet with parents to discuss where to go next. What was unusual was falling in love with Meriwether and her devoted mate, but it worked out swimmingly, and two more hatchlings were to be had. Now, Meriwether still acts in diplomatic capacity when other clans sent representatives. Her daughters have taken after her and travel the Plateau to spread peace, and meanwhile, her only son has adopted the mantle of Loremaster for the clan. She dotes on Gideon, the only Imperial among Spirals, her only son, and he remains close to her, gradually learning to master the family gift of the silver tongue by the evening fireside.
