Savil

To most, Savil is just another unremarkable dragon living with the Igni Ferroque. She isn’t as much a fighter as most are but prefers to spend her time helping with raising the hatchlings. She is usually very nervous around other dragons closer to her age or older; however, once she gets comfortable with another, she is always happy to chat and share stories of her days. While she is very shy and soft-spoken, she does have a wonderful singing voice that many among the clan find soothing. The dragon most influenced by her voice is her very close friend, Devil, who can be prone to personality shifts that can be deadly for those around him. Many dragons tease them for being so close and implying that there may be more going on, however they steadfastly refute these claims as she grows flush with embarrassment.

The day that Savil met Devil was almost a very tragic moment in history for the Igni Ferroque. For Savil, it started out as any other. She prepared herself and the hatchlings a proper morning meal and brought it out to them so that they’d be well fed for a trip out of the lair. Their trip took them out to the edge of the Ashfall Waste where they got to see the lava and water mix to form swirling clouds of steam and watch some dragon who happened to be in the area shaping small bits of land into their own creative work. The young dragons looked in awe of the sights to see on their trip.
The trip lasted most of the day and the sun was almost set as the lair came into view. Savil noticed something eerie in the air and looked around worried. Suddenly, a shrill shriek pierced the air and large shadow came flying out of the from seemingly, tossing aside a small, unconscious dragon. Savil and the hatchlings made an attempt for the lair but were promptly herded away in a series of laughter. Backed into a corner, Savil huddled the little ones behind her in a last-ditch attempt to protect them and, for some odd reason, felt compelled to compose one last song.

The chorus that came out started out small and quiet then grew into something full of hope. Savil looked up to see the dark dragon staring at her, entranced in the song. She motioned for the hatchling to escape to the lair as she continued her song and took a moment to observe the dragon. It seemed easier to make out his shape and his obsidian scales and wings.

Something then seemed to snap back into focus for him and he saw the young dragons running in terror. He turned away, seemingly pained, and began to fly away. Savil pursued and noticed Saevio had come from the lair and was not too far behind. As they caught up to the mysterious dragon, Savil urged Gala back so that she could approach him on more amiable terms. Saevio begrudgingly accepted but kept a close eye in case something should happen. Upon closer inspection, she again saw the look of pain as though he didn’t mean the things that he had done. A short bit of conversation reaffirmed this and revealed his name to her. Devil.

Learning more about him fed Savil’s nurturing nature and she turned to Saevio to request a place in the clan for Devil. Having seen the interactions between the two, Saevio was convinced to at least give him a chance and would vouch on his behalf to Caligo and the others. Devil watched in confusion, wondering how they could possibly consider bringing him into their family after witnessing what he’d become but went along with the hopes of a better life.
