Uh-oh, looks like this adventurous Coatl wandered a little too far from his home lair (Volrin, #261879), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful! Personality A timid, somewhat effeminate young Coatl who gets quite shy around strangers. He loves to go out exploring and sightseeing, and one day wants to venture to every domain on Sornieth. His favorite part of adventuring is when he gets to perch himself somewhere high above the ground and admire the landscape; he'd be embarrassed to admit it, but the sights always make him very emotional. Despite his shyness, Nova is actually quite the romantic when it comes to his wife. Speaking of Nova's wife, the Skydancer named Violet isn't a big fan of travel, and you'd have to drag her kicking and screaming to get her away from her alchemy practices for any lengthy period of time. However, at Nova's begging and pleading polite request, she's been able to bring herself to part with her work for a while so the couple can see the world. One day, Nova hopes to visit a clan of every flight with her, and wishes to later take her on a vacation to the nicest land they find. Nova absolutely adores purple apparel because it reminds him of his wife's lovely colouration, and collects it with a passion. His fake, purple antennae are fashioned out of a handful of Violet's feathers, which she finds flattering. Violet's mate, so please refrain from breeding him with anyone other than Violet! I'd rather not see the two of them split up on their travels, but if it has to happen, please at least write a blurb about how they were separated. I honestly really wouldn't mind that, as long as it's a fun read.

Would you believe it, our first clan into our journey and we lost our things! I am still unsure as to whether or not we actually lost them, or if they were stolen. Hopefully this doesn't happen again. Anyway we have visited three clans now. Nakia, the leader of the water clan we are currently visiting, runs a small but friendly clan. She complains there isn't much to do here. I've heard rumors they'll be moving to Shadow or Plague for a change of venue. Of all flights, those certainly wouldn't be my first choice but who am I to judge?

Anyway, I think Violet and I will be heading out soon... Violet mentioned some of the darker colored dragons seem to follow us, like they think we're up to no good. Can't blame them for not trusting outsiders, but it's making me nervous!




Phew! We've traveled a lot since my last entry! Right now Violet and I are in the Reedcleft Ascent. It has many places I can see the world from. So many views! I find a new one, or five, every day! Sometimes I wonder if I can see the whole of Sornieth from here!

Recently we started following some traveling performers called the Bamboo Bards. They're a nice group. I love their music so much! I remember my aunt telling me a story about sirens that made music so beautiful that they lured dragons. This must be what their music is like. Maybe I should become a musician someday.

Violet is getting anxious, though. I think the music bothers her. She's complaining that she wants to go home, but we've spent more time at home than we have traveling. Hopefully we can compromise by traveling somewhere else instead of continuing to follow the Bards.




The Bards were fun and all but since Violet didn't like it any bit I decided that we should go somewhere a little less noisy. That's how we ended up on the coast of the Southern Icefield. She was infinitely happier about my choice of destination and that made me pretty happy. There was a few places around to go and the lair was situated into a cliff! However it seems no one was allowed up the cliff due to some group of sorts stationed up that.

That dampened my mood immediately but I was able to pull myself together after meeting a music teacher who was willing to teach me a bit about music. It seems I might become a musician after all! I don't know how Violet would feel about that but it is fun to entertain the thought. After that there wasn't much else that interested me so it was time to head out once again. Violet doesn't seem to be too happy about the notation since she finally had time to work on her alchemy but there was so much more to explore we couldn't just stay here forever.




We have found a clan where even my mate is having a good time! Clan Cross has many wonderful things and its high trees allow me a great many places to perch and observe. I let Violet get to work with the clan's alchemist and got about doing my own thing. Many of the dragons here created wares to sell or provided services such as the fortune teller or the consultants. I was very taken with a nocturne's small wooden carvings and even bought one that could fit easily in my pack.
Still, all good times must come to an end and eventually I felt it was time for Violet and I to move on. I know she was disappointed but it was still something we had to do.




This clan here is quite wonderful as well, but there weren't any places for me to perch and observe from so I decided to just watch the performers from a far. Violet found another alchemist to work with.

I wanted to get closer to explore the different stalls and see all the performers that were here in the Aetherwood Garrison, but I was too scared to. I was thankful though when my mate decided to explore the area with me.

It was pretty fun here, but Violet and I must continue traveling.




I was still pretty pumped up from traveling, but my dear Violet was getting tired so we decided to spend a few days in a little hotel. Violet quickly got acquainted with the alchemist here, so I decided to go off and explore around the area on my own. The area around was pretty, and I got a chance to talk again with a Mirror that had greeted us at the door.

We chitchatted a little bit again, but then he asked me something. He wanted to know if I ever painted the landscapes that I saw. I shook my head, but he encouraged me to paint. So I took some supplies and climbed up.

He smiled when I came down with a decent looking landscape. I think I could have done better. He was going to take it to remind himself of the days in Wind. They were going to switch to the Earth flight soon, and though they wanted to be in Earth, they wanted memories of Wind. I think he gave my painting a little more credit than it should have gotten, but Violet liked it too.

We are going to be out tomorrow. I can't wait to see where we go next!!




Violet has been having a great time teaching some rubes how to stir a pot but I confess that I am bored. There was a certain amount of entertainment to be had in watching the romantic foibles of the clan. A certain older states-dragon of Imperial type had been promised a young wife to wed, but they were waiting for her to reach majority before the wedding - as is proper.

In the meantime, a Skydancer of jaguar pattern had seduced him and become his mistress. The young Imperial girl became jealous and founder herself another mate as well, much younger than the old man she'd been promised to and a good deal comelier. This had put him into a furious state until his mistress calmed him down and proposed marriage.

In the end, a dual wedding was put on by the clan, who were much relieved to have a fortuitous end to the romantic scandals.




This clan was certainly an interesting find. I could hear music playing almost all of the first day, the sound dying down a bit during the night while everyone slept. Everyone here is so diverse! And there are several adventurers stopping in as well. This is simply fascinating. While Violet found another Alchemist to teach, I decided to join in on the fun of the clan with the music and dancing and feasts including everyone, even the hatchlings! It was hard leaving, but I'm sure we'll be back here again. I hope we will be, at least.




While we were taking the 'scenic' route, two dragons came and introduced themselves, along with offering their clan as a place for us to rest. I was surprised to see all the dragons there, and even moreso at how quickly we were accepted as their family!

Laminae told me how everybody here had some sort of story about how they came to be here, and I couldn't wait to hear them all.. that is, until some of the little ones started crying when I asked. Ooo I hate when little ones cry, it makes me really sad, so I decided to cheer them up by telling them a story! And another.. and another.. Well, soon enough, most of the clan was coming to hear the great adventures Violet and I have had so far, and I found myself happy thinking of all the experiences I have experienced with my love.

The hatchlings also showed me some really beautiful places! I really wish I had brought some paint, as I could have tried again on that, maybe my dear Violet would have enjoyed it. Speaking of her, she found an amazing alchemist here with an apprentice, and was always with them! Recently however, she's been getting more and more into what I'm doing. While I love that she's doing so, I know she wants to work. I don't understand what could have happened to make her act this way..

We'll probably be leaving soon, as I worry about her, and I think it would do good to start traveling again. Of course, before we leave I'll have to give her the pretty necklace one of the Nocturnes was making. I hope she likes it!



We spent quite a lengthy time in the Clan of the Brightest Ocean Shores. The land they live on is quite gorgeous, and I'm happy to say that we've both had a pleasant time here as Violet has worked on her alchemy skills and I've seen the sights of the Water domain over and over again. Alas, it is time for our journey to begin again.


What a strange little place! Me and my beloved had to sign a guestbook just to get in.
Although I have to say that they have an incredible outlook post over the Tangled Wood. I nearly teared up with joy! Who could ever imagine that such a dark place as this would have such an incredible, beautiful view!

I also met a much older dragon. Not in that way, no! I love my dearest Violet too much. His name was Thor, and he was just a few months shy of 7 years. He gave me a few tips on how to woo Violet, but um, I think I'll stick to my own tricks...

We stayed a few nights, but decided to continue our journey. I'm still not sure if the Tangled Wood will be my go-to vacation spot, but that view certainly shifted my opinion of the place. The Forgotten Clan have welcomed us back at any time, so there's that at least!
