A notorious teetotaler, Ne'tra Gal's name is a joke given to him by his men. He thinks it's hilarious.

The only child of a single mother, Ne'tra Gal grew up poor but not desperately so. As soon as he was old enough he joined the City Guard, considering it an honor to give back to the city that had been so welcoming to him and his mother. Always a good judge of character, he rose steadily through the ranks, and he currently commands one of three Guard legions - specifically, the one tasked with protecting Cerar Oriya from external threats. He is popular with his men and projects a confident, unflappable demeanor, but he is growing increasingly concerned about the state of the world beyond the City's immediate protection.

Ne'tra Gal has recently become the guardian of a youngster, Dem'ika. He never thought he'd be a parent, and he's surprised at how much he's enjoying the experience. He never meant to mislead her about how permanent the arrangement was going to be...
