oThe Matriarch

Born and raised deep within the Viridian Labyrinth, Odilia knew at a young age her Charge was the forest itself. Serene and comfortable, she made her home and before long, the Refuge was born. Phoebus was the first to join the lair, and it only grew from there.

The Refuge was mostly a peaceful union of dragons from all flights looking for a safe place under the Behemoth's leafy shades, a serene communal free from most worries and cares. The motley of dragons that gathered became a part of Odilia's peaceful reign, becoming one with the nature that surrounded them and a part of the Charge that Odilia undertook.

A loving but firm matriarch, she cared for each of her 'children' and guided them with ease and steady guidance to care for the land gently, training others to serve under the Gladekeeper's watch. The clan subsisted with minimal issues, each member playing their own role and serving their cause their own way until a Ridgeback named Gullveid came upon the humble little clan.

A dragon full of rage and contempt, she saw the peace and quiet of the Refuge as a degradation to the state of dragonkind and decided to take matters into her own claws. A brutal teacher, Gullveid usurped Odilia's position as matriarch, laying waste to the lair that the clan had so lovingly built up, leaving it a barren pit of ash and embers and forcing the clan to move.

Despaired, Odilia nurtured the members of her clan as best the could while they became nomadic, wandering the Shattered Plains before eventually reaching the Scarred Wasteland where Gullveid would ultimately decide to be their home. Odilia wept at the loss of her charge, to this day in mourning and longs to return to the Viridian Labyrinth, to the home that no longer remained, though the dragons that worked with her before became a reminder of the times before and settled into making life as peaceful as possible under Gullveid's iron fist.

Deep into the night with the moonlight as my guide
I go wander through the pines and make my way to nature's shrines
and I look up to the sky and I know you're still alive,
but I wonder where you are, I call your name into the dark.
