The Twisting Crescendo - the powerful storm that has raged since ancient times. This clash of energy is so powerful that occasionally, a smaller storm is thrown out into the surrounding landscape. These storms usually end up in other parts of the Windswept Plateau or the Sea of a Thousands Currents and soak up nearby elemental magic. If a storm soaks up enough magic, it takes on a corporal form and becomes a living being.

Firewhirls are Cyclones that get flung into the Ashfall Waste as they form. The mighty winds they give off easily suck up and absorb the fire and heat and transform into creatures of living flames that dance among the pools of lava. Like the Hurricanes, they rarely leave their fiery realm, unable to survive in colder climates.
