MISS WAVERLEY
magical museum curator

.......................................

COLLEGE OF THE SHINING EYE
Silver Sylvan Wings Radiant Flutterbun

This seaside town fills you with questions; why its lonely factory? Why its museum, full of strange and wonderful things? Why its sharp cliffs and harsh waves? The smell of pine drifts down to you from the woods, and for a reason you cannot identify, you begin to cry.

.
No one knows much about young Miss Waverley. She has always been there at the desk of her museum, greeting visitors and curating her seemingly endless collection of magical curiosities. Some items make dreams come true, some turn lead to gold and diamonds to coal, some steal your darkest fears, and some slither between words like snakes, turning lives to dust and hopes to ash. Miss Waverley catalogues all these items, and stores them neatly in her museum. It's probably best not to touch anything...

People always see her by the seashore, staring wistfully at the horizon. They say she once dated a selkie, a beautiful dragon who could turn into a seal. In some stories, Waverley dreamed of joining her lover in the sea, but could never find the artifact that would let her live underwater. But in other stories, whispered in local bars and hotel halls, she is a mermaid girl who loved a selkie, and they longed to live on land together. The mermaid used her water magic to transform herself into a human, only to lose her powers in the process. Though they lived a happy life, the selkie couldn't bear to be so far from the ocean, and after a time, left the land and her lover for the sea. Waverley refuses to elaborate on these tales, or why they leave her undeniably sad.
