Biography

Lore by InsanityOW:

Robyn's dark green scales glinted in the afternoon sun. He had been tracking this particular creature for hours now, and was becoming exhausted.
Hopefully he could honor the clan with all this hard work and research.
A sudden wave of dark grey clouds rolled in, and with it, a gust of wind.
Robyn let out a cry of despair as he saw his notes-his hard work-blown away. He took off, trampling through the underbrush, the wind howling through the trees now. He was sprinting, panting-
And suddenly on the ground.
His eyes pointed skyward; he didn't feel like rolling over yet. He must've hit something, but he couldn't pinpoint the pain due to the adrenaline raging in his veins.
His ears swiveled as someone groaned in pain.
"Watch where you're going next time."
A sassy voice, belonging to a female, a few feet away. He finally rolled over and saw a beautiful, golden-scaled, Imperial dragon. She was taller than him, he realized as he stood up.
He suddenly remembered what sent him into a frenzy in the first place.
"My notes!" he choked out through his panting breath. "My notes were blown away, where are they-"
"Calm down. I saw where they went. At least, before you nearly knocked me out." She started off without warning, presumably in the direction of his notes. He was stunned for a moment, but regained his focus and jogged up to her side.
"At least tell me what your name is," he spoke after a few moments, deciding he needed to take some sort of charge.
"Sunshine." Her pale-blue eyes dragged off of the road to look at him. She didn't stop walking.
"Robyn. Why are you helping me?"
"I love experimenting and researching. Probably as much as you, if not more."
They walked in silence for a few minutes, until it was broken by the sound of parchment flapping in the wind.
Sunshine strained her neck to look a bit higher.
"There's a sheet coming up to the right of us. It's impaled on a branch."
Sure enough, she was right. He reached up and snatched it, rolling it into a tube and sliding it into a protector, then into his brown satchel on his side.
"Thanks Sunshine. I really appreciate it."
"How many more pages?" She asked, trying to get things done quickly.
"Two more."
They continued onwards, not daring to interrupt the silence. She led him to a large clearing, and looked around.
"Are one of my-" Robyn was quickly cut of by Sunshine's bark of a voice.
"Shut up, someone's here."
Robyn concentrated, and heard the sound of ripping parchment and growling. Sunshine snuck up on a clump of bushes.
"One... two... three!" She pushed them aside, and a dragon-a juvenile-was rolling on her back, batting at one of Robyn's parchments.
"Hey!" He cried out, and the young dragon quickly moved her focus from her new toy to the green Pearlcatcher.
"Kid, those are one of my notes. Give it here." Robyn's voice was stern and cold.
"I have a name, yaknow." The Coatl was on her feet now, her black and white feathered wings rustling in the wind.
Sunshine gave her a nasty side-eye.
"What is it then, punk?" Sunshine spat out at her; she was trying way too hard.
"It's Poltergeist."
"Well," Robyn cut in, "I'm Robyn, and this is my partner Sunshine."
"Oh, so we're partners now."
"Shut up! Why do you have to be so prissy all the time?!"
Sunshine quickly looked down, sheepishly realizing that in her journey to look and sound "tough" that she really just sounded ignorant.
"Anyways, where are you from Poltergeist?" Robyn continued, ignoring his companion. He took the parchment and shoved it into his bag.
"I just left Plague. They treated me like cow dung." Her red eyes swiveled to look at Robyn. He realized how thin she was.
"Come with us."
Robyn whipped his head around in surprise. Sunshine's icy eyes stared back into his.
"We have no reason not too. She's young. With a bit of food she could be of great use. And I assume your clan has lots of food for all of us, Robyn?"
"Well-I uh-hang on, let me run some numbers, and maybe we might have enough-" He sputtered and fumbled a blank piece of parchment and a quill.
Sunshine went off to the side with Poltergeist, speaking in hushed tones as Robyn "ran some numbers".
"I mean, based on this," The two girls stopped speaking and looked at him.
"We should have more than enough."
"Oh thank you, thank you so much. You don't understand how much this means to me; I was gonna starve out here-"
"Hush. It's just common sense," Sunshine said in a calming tone.
"Anyways, that's two out of three papers. Let's continue," Robyn said, getting everyone back on track.
They started back off, now with a third member of their team.
Later on, when the sun was setting, they found the last page floating in a pond. The ink was running, but not to the point of ineligibility.
"Now you must repay me," Sunshine spoke after a while, catching Robyn off guard.
"What? How?"
"Let's go find that specimen you were writing about."
Poltergeist chimed in. "Oh can we? Please? That would be really cool."
Robyn groaned. It had been a long day, and he really didn't want too.
Just when he was about to say they should get Sunshine and Poltergeist settled into the clan, there was a squeaking nearby.
"I'm gonna freeze it, then we can take it with us."
Sunshine was about to pounce when Robyn intervened.
"No way Sunshine! What if freezing it kills it!"
"I've done this a million times before. Step aside."
While they were bickering, they didn't notice Poltergeist sneaking into the bushes, getting into position behind the squeaking sound.
She pounced, crashing through the bushes and tackling the animal. She carefully made sure not to kill it.
Both Robyn and Sunshine stopped bickering in shock. Neither of them expected this. She tramped through a few more bushes with the animal carefully placed in her jaw.
"Here chou fo," she mumbled through the squirming creature's fur. She plopped it into Robyn's bag.
She spit out some fur clumps and wiped her tongue.
"Can we go now?"
Sunshine just blinked at her, then shook her head to focus.
"Well, let's get going," Robyn started leading his new crew to his clan under the setting sun.
Poltergeist hesitated for a moment.
Robyn turned around. "Aren't you coming?"
She grinned and ran after them.
