The Charged Barrens hum with an energy all their own. They rattle and creak with an unknown energy that traces to the god of the Expanse himself. But within this song, the Gilded Tower of Clan Escalon hums discordantly. A phenomenon that draws in potential researchers and scientists. Those who attempt the journey often return with the same information.
The clan is cursed to be a reminder of a scar on Lightning Flight history. For the good and the ill that is provided. This is a partial truth. The Gilded Tower is a scar on the history of the flight. But the clan holds two living relics of the past. They are spoken of to outsiders as The Evercrackling Commander and the Magistus Astrai. To those who stay within the Gilded Tower?
They are Raiden and Sehimena, the lightning followed by thunder.
Raiden is an old soul within a lead-lined clay dragon skin. A spirit of living electricity who has lived through the retreat and return of the gods. Who denied their god could do no wrong. Who lashed out at their father for abandoning them. He who bargained with his father for privacy when too many died.
He who is but a husk of who he once was.
In the begining of the clan, Raiden and Nyx were happy together. Enough to produce a child together; A pinkish purple child named Zephyr. A few moons later, they adopted an orphaned nocturne named Shayle.
It seemed happy for a time until Zephyr started expressing interest in the ranks of the Exalted. Raiden tried to convince his eldest son, but before long he ran off to join them.
In the moons that followed, Raiden's rage became a constant.
In the moons that followed, Raiden lost Sehimena and Shayle.
