Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this monotonous green dragon wandered a little too far from his home lair (Maria279, #294011), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Feel free to PM Maria279, breeder of Monotony, when you receive this dragon! It would make her feel better to know Monotony is in good hands. Maria279 would like to have Monotony back after a year of wandering and gaining experience on 1/21/18

My Stories
1/21/17- After being born to Maria279's progenators Fate and Chance, Monotony felt underwhelmed with the name he was given so he left the nest in order to travel the world so one day he could come back and prove he was more than his name. His leave of the nest was in part caused by the exaltation of his two sisters.

1/12/17 - He stayed with the EchoFlower Troupe for a long time, gaining knowledge that would lead him to prosperity down the way. If he was ever to outgrow his name, he would need to start somewhere. So he set to learning the trade of Circus Work and discovered he was actually pretty good at it. So good, in fact, that the entire Troupe was sad to see him go. Knowing he had such great potential, they sent him off with a few choice provisions and wished him the best of luck.

1/23/17 - When Monotony arrived at the Voidhunter's clan, he found himself once again amongst circus folk. The Cheshire Circus welcomed his talents with open arms and made him an honorary member. Monotony gave major contributions to the Circus and it was a pity to see him go.

3/2/17 - Monotony had arrived in Redbone City, a town in Plague's Abiding Boneyard. He decided to stay, and did so for a few weeks. He lived in Zircon's hotel, where Venzia developed a crush on him (she kept it secret). He visited the coliseum supply shop often, before leaving.

?/?/17 - Flying across the Shifting Expanse was tiresome. Afterall there wasn't much to look at... Until he spotted a crack in one of the many canyons, deciding to take rest. What he discovered instead was a small clan thriving inside. Of course he'd suddenly caught everyone's attention, but was quickly welcomed. Traveling dragons weren't uncommon after all. The Ambershade Clan took good care of him, and even showed him some fighting techniques.

4/5/17 - He was welcomed with open arms at Clan Almitas. During his stay he found himself with the Lace gene and even helped the clan move from Nature to Earth. It wasn't long before he felt the pull of adventure again, so he said farewell to his friends and was gone by the next night.

4/5/17 -A quick stop in the WyrmWound it made him a little uneasy but this clan was along the way so he stopped to rest for a bit. The members of the clan were nice. Friendly, polite but a bit rowdy. Pushing each other in a playful contest of who was the strongest. It was entertaining to watch but The Hatchlings that were in abundance here were a little distracting, though the sounds of their laughter was pleasing to the ears. they were curious since they had never seen such a thing and they kept swinging and climbing on his chin beard. While most were not much trouble it hurt a bit when the heavier baby snappers started to do that. After his short rest he continued on his journey with several disappointed Hatchlings left behind

4/6/17 - Weary legs and heavy wings brought Monotony to clan Apó ta Astéria. A young wildclaw pair had only recently left, meaning there was space for a large, tired boy to rest. He was welcomed by Artemis and fed, and allowed to stay as long as he needed. If he caused any trouble, he wasn't the only Guardian that called this clan home, however temporary his stay might be.

4/22/17 - Monotony was caught in an unexpected storm the night he left his previous stop. The strong winds blew him over to another Lightning clan nearby, where he was knocked out after hitting his head on a rock.
When Monotony awoke, he saw many dragons surrounding him. A small Fae was bringing over some of the meat they had managed to gather that day and handed it to him. Seems like this clan is nice, he thought.
The day after the incident, the Guardian prepared to leave and seek out another clan to visit another area. A pair of golden dragons passed Monotony a quartz crystal just before he flew away to explore some more.

5/11/17 - Monotony, now accompanied by his Charge (an artistic Wildclaw named Gem), next found himself in a friendly lair in the Sunbeam Ruins. He spend the vast majority of his time there learning aerial tricks from the famous stuntman, Cryptal the Imperial; the bulky Guardian wasn't particularly nimble at first, but he found himself becoming increasingly agile and limber throughout his training. His mentor beamed at him with pride, and told him that the name "Monotony" didn't fit him at all; his performance absolutely radiated happiness and personality! The Guardian was very happy to hear these words, and felt reassured that his parents had been wrong about him.

Monotony also spent some time assisting the clan's hunters. He gained some experience during his time helping them, but nothing particularly notable. He really couldn't give it his all when he was so anxious about properly protecting his Charge; while he was sure Gem could take good care of herself, he was still new to being a proper "Guardian" and couldn't help but stress.

Finally, after about a month of staying in the clan, Monotony and Gem decided to head out once again. Cryptal was particularly sad to see them go, but he wished them safe travels all the same.

5/14/17
As they made their way to the edges of the sea, a energetic spiral greeted them and asked if they were in need of a home. This dragon was flying circles above their heads, spiraling around. Monotony found this dragon more annoying than any other dragon he had every met. Gem nodded, and they trio made their way to the Silver Dew Clan.

9/21/17
Monotony felt the nervousness coming off of his charge. She was about to see her mother for the first time since she set out, and though she didn't say much, he could tell it was a big deal.

"Wait out here, this is something I need to do alone." Gem told her companion. Monotony nodded, wishing he could join her.

The time seemed to stretch on for ages. He wished he could hear what was going on inside. What if his charge was hurting? What if it all went wrong and Gem's mother didn't care for her? How would Gem be able to take it? He began to pace outside the door.

After a while, the door burst open. Monotony caught a glimpse of the room inside, but his focus was more on his charge. She did not look particularly distressed, but there was a gleam in her eyes he couldn't quite identify.

"How did it go?" He dared to ask.

"It's not important." Gem shot back. "Let's go back home." And without giving the guardian time to respond, she took off down the corridor.

9/30/17
Gem was refusing to leave. As desperate as he was to keep moving, his charge refused to keep moving.

"Come on, Gem."

"No. I am going to stay here. I'm home. You go. I promise I'll be safe here. Go, explore, keep on your quest." She kissed his nose gently. "I'll never forget you, Monotony."
