▾ Kyber is a being beyond draconic comprehension. When the first dragon gods began creating children in their likenesses, the Windsinger spoke into being great serpents and winged creatures who would ride the breezes and spread his song to the furthest corners of Sorineth. These first and most ancient wind dragons are mighty to behold, both terrifying in their scale and power, and awe-inspiringly beautiful. Kyber predates all of them by an unfathomable amount of time.
▾ The Winds of Creation were forged in the bright hearts of the very first stars, strung together by filaments of nuclear fusion and cosmic dust. Their nurseries were the roiling depths of nebulae and their wings were tested on the horizons of supermassive black holes. The Winds scour the universe through wormholes and on the tails of comets, stirring up new life in their wake. They are neither benevolent towards life they encounter, nor malicious, simply existing as forces of chaos and creation. They drive the expansion of the universe, frolicking and warring in the myriad folds of reality's fabric.
▾ For reasons entirely their own, Kyber has taken a fleeting interest in Sorineth: a small planet in an otherwise barren system that, against all odds, developed diverse and complex life as well as an incredibly powerful magical field that permeates the whole teeming rock and its inhabitants. Curious, Kyber lingers near Sorineth as a silent, invisible observer. They long to play around with the colorful little creatures on its surface, but to compress themselves into a form these dragons could safely perceive and interact with is too much of a chore. When they do visit, it is through the senses of much more mundane creatures: cats. For a time, Kyber can manifest on the planet as an uncanny black cat: one whose eyes burn with ancient knowledge, whose fur is darker than anything, a true void, and who is incapable of casting a shadow where it walks. It comes and goes with Kyber's whims, but can be spotted most consistently lingering near the Forbidden Portal, where the already high levels of arcane distortion allow it to take more substance for longer periods of time.
