A long time ago, during the time of the Gods, the Tidelord created monstrous beasts called Leviathans to swim in his oceans, protecting it from any dangers, whether they be from Beastclans, or even dragons themselves. These monstrosities grew several meters in length, to the point where many could swallow an adult dragon whole. They almost acted on a hive mind complex, working in unison, even while separated in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Throughout the years, some more were made, others died. But they remained monstrous, and feral. Until one day, one Leviathan broke from the hive mind of her own free will, as she became curious about dragons along the shore. Who were they? What were they? Should she consider them food? She was 'told' that dragons feared her kind, but she wanted to get closer... For years, this Leviathan watched the dragons from afar, watching their mannerisms, learning their forms, and even getting close enough to learn their language. With her body being bio-luminescent, she had to be careful where she floated, or else they'd spot her. Deciding to be brave, the Leviathan tapped into an ancient magic deep within her large body, and transformed herself into one of the dragons that she had seen along the shore--a Ridgeback female. She still had the bulb from her original Leviathan form on, but she thought nothing of it. She approached the dragons, and they were very wary at first--apparently the breed Ridgeback were afraid of water, and here she was, coming out of the ocean. Slowly but surely, she gained the trust of a few of them, and came to shore often in her new form to mingle with them. She learned much more this way, and began to enjoy their company. However, due to her nature as a Leviathan, she had to return to the sea every so often, or she would get too weak, and her skin would painfully dry out. However, the leaders of the dragons she was mingling with became drastically suspicious. How come she had to return to the water every day? Why would she not let anyone go with her into the water, when she left? And one claimed to see her transform into a monstrous sea beast... With the accusations flying, it didn't take much for the dragons that she had thought as friends to turn against her. They attacked her with weapons and claws and teeth, scarring not only her body, but her heart. Hurt and betrayed, she fled back to the sea, destroying any dragons that dared to chase after her. There, she returned to the deep depths of the sea, slowly easing herself into the Leviathan hive mind again to ease the hurt she felt in her heart. But one thing still stayed--an intense hatred for dragonkind. She vowed to destroy any dragon she came across, swallow them up whole, drown them...whatever it took to kill them. For hundreds of years, she bore a grudge against dragonkind, and any chance she got to attack a dragon, she took it. A boat full of dragons fishing? Crushed in her jaws, and dragged down into the depths of the sea to be devoured. Dragons going for a leisurely swim? She'd come up from below and swallow them whole. Then, something happened one day... While idly swimming in the ocean, she felt something tug at her. But it wasn't a smaller predatory fish or even another Leviathan...but a hook. A fishing hook, and a large one at that. It caught her lip, and with a snarl she tugged down, dragging down whatever poor soul decided to hook her. To her surprise, though, it was a small, green Tundra. From what she could remember, Tundras didn't come to water often, due to their fur. But here this one was, staring at her with large, Light colored eyes. The Leviathan charged at her, but missed, and instead headed for the shore. No doubt the little one had friends--she would toss the Tundra up into the air, closer to the shore, then leap up and snap her up in front of the others. As a warning to all dragonkind... But it didn't go as planned. Something shocked her, powerful enough to make her falter and lose focus. It happened again, and instead of pausing right before the shore, she found herself beaching herself up onto the sandy beach, dragging the Tundra with her. There was a Pearlcatcher on the shore, blade in hand. But before the Pearlcatcher could kill her, the soaked Tundra stepped in front of the Leviathan, protecting her. A dragon? Protecting her? The Leviathan was touched enough to have a change of heart...and after having the Tundra move aside, she launched forward and gobbled up the Pearlcatcher whole. |
The Leviathan was even more confused, when the Tundra seemed to be admiring her, rather than being afraid. Even transforming into her Ridgeback form didn't bother her. This small Tundra, who looked at her like she was the most precious gem in the world, cause her heart to melt. The Tundra introduced herself as Fysher. The Leviathan, however, didn't have a name to give her in return. Fysher fixed that pretty quickly, and gave her a new name--Diondra; because it 'sounded cool.' Newly named Diondra found herself in Fysher's debt, and followed her into her clan, where she would be living from now on. To this day, it still tickles Diondra that a small green Tundra changed her life forever, after years of dwelling on the hurt she'd gotten from those dragons years and years ago. This little fluffball 'healed' her wounds, taught her to love dragonkind again...and soon, found herself loving Fysher. As in true love. Now, she hardly leaves Fysher's side, only parting when she needs to return to the sea. But even then, Fysher follows her, either staying on the shore, or sitting along her long body, having Diondra float along the surface. From Fysher, she learned how to interact with dragons again, though still has some trouble in some social situations. But she pledged that she wouldn't hurt a clansmate...so long as they don't hurt Fysher. All bets are off, if any dragon lays a harmful claw on Fysher. Fysher ended up moving her den closer to the sea, so that she and Diondra could live together under the same roof. Diondra loves Fysher's soft fur, and often nuzzles her face into it, much to Fysher's delight. There's talk about them being rather intimate as well, though when questioned, Fysher gets very flustered...especially when Diondra confirms the fact. Another social cue that Diondra doesn't quite get. Lately, though, with all the discourse happening in the clan, Diondra can't help but wonder what will happen. Her love binds her to Fysher, and also to her sibling, Samirel. If she was a Guardian, she'd call the siblings her 'Charges'. But her Leviathan senses are tingling, and something big will be happening to the clan. She can feel it. Still, not matter what happens, she will stay by Fysher's side. Fysher saved her, and in return she will save Fysher. No matter what may come... |
