"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." -Martin Luther King, Jr.

This cheery coatl holds a twisted past. His clanmates don't talk about it as he doesn't appreciate a word of his tale. He cuts and shapes wood to take his mind off his thoughts on it, but sometimes that doesn't work and he completely loses his mind. When this happens, other dragons help him calm down.
Backstory
It began on a windy day. It was then I hatched along with a brother of my own. Taken care of by an older brother, we lived a life of manners and courtesy. We cared for each other and for ourselves and learned to share. But things took a turn for the worst when the leaders of the clan went missing. Those were my parents, and I felt that it was time that one of my siblings take the throne. My better instincts said that I let them be the leader of our clan, but my gut said otherwise. I always follow my gut, and so I did. Greed does bad things to dragonkind, and greed did bad things to me. Killing my older brother, I seized the throne and all the command that went behind its royal demands. All was under my claw. I controlled the clan, and they did my every bidding on punishment of Sentence. Sentence was something we all dreaded, as all who were Sentenced were sent off, never to be seen again. So the clan followed my every command, granting my every wish, and doing what I saw fit. I commanded clans be destroyed because they did not follow me. My clan complied with all my commands, and soon my land was larger than others. One day, I saw it necessary to remove the dragons that we did not ever need, so I commanded the clan before me as I ran tests to see if they were capable of being strong enough to stay. Most were commanded to leave as they did not fit my standards. Among them hatching brother who disapproved of me and approached me before he took his leave. "Brother, I thought you were better than this. I believed in you. And I still do. Anyone can change, and so can you. So please, do not do this." I responded with a sharp tone. "I command you. You have no right to challenge my actions. This is me. I shall not change, for this is all I need to be now: a leader." My brother shook his head. "Though you are foolish, there is still hope for you to change. I shall see to that soon, but for now, I leave by your command. Goodbye, brother." He left and disappeared into the distance. I took it as normal happenings as this compared to my actions was nothing. I commanded the remaining dragons to clean the territory. All that was useless was thrown out, even the possessions of our past clanmates. More dragons who met my standards joined the clan over many weeks, and I did more of weeding out the weaker dragons when more dragons joined. Months later, a newcomer draped in a cloak arrived at the entrance of our home demanding he see me. I approached the mysterious dragon and stopped in front of him, asking what he wanted. The stranger took off the cloak and locked his lime eyes with mine. It was my lost brother come back from his absence. He was the same as I, but with a blue chest and wave patterns on his wings. "I challenge you, brother," He spoke with a loud voice. "and I challenge your command over the land which I once called home. We fight now." We trotted to the tree in the middle of the clan territory with clan members trailing behind, wishing to see the battle of the brothers. "I have improved over the moons, and I hope you have, too." he added in the coatl language. Once we were under the shade of the tree, we readied our claws and fangs. The wind blew as hard as it was when I came out of my shell. The sun's light was as bright and the shadows were as long as it was the day we were born. Under the great oak where many things happened, we stood. Where the clan was founded and where our parents got together, we stood. Where we dreamed and hoped, and where we cried and despaired, we stood. Where a brother was killed in a coatl's madness for power, two brothers poised ready to claw at each other's throats. There, a battle which soaked the ground with the blood of brothers began. Claw for claw and tooth for tooth we fought. After a long brawl, my brother struck me hard on my shoulder. Falling to the ground, I grasped at air as though there was a rope to cling on. My brother stood over me and triumphed. As I scrambled to my claws, my brother spoke. "So I believe I triumph. This shows that you and your position on the throne no longer stands. I now take my rightful place as the leader of this clan. And in my new position, I banish you. You have done terrible things to a clan that once had glory but was lost in your reign. A tyrant like you has no place in a clan like this, a clan denied of its rights by an overthrown dragon. I did believe in you, yet you haven't changed. Now you have to change. Leave and do not come back until that has happened." Removed from my clan, I left and disappeared in to the distance like my brother once had long ago. To the Viridian Labyrinth I flew to seek redemption. I found a clan that loved me as much as I wanted to love them. I became part of the clan, and here I am today. I will return once again someday, but for now I remain here.
