B I O G R A P H Y

He had always wanted to die in battle. Ever since he was a hatchling he was rushing into fights, even if he knew he could not win. Most skydancers are not made for battle, better suited to reading the emotions of other counterparts. Not Axel, though. He wanted to be a soldier, a warrior, a fighter who would eventually die for their cause. For time he trained, fighting every day with whoever would accompany him to become stronger.

But every warrior finds someone that is stronger than them, someone who is a better fighter. And in this case, he found them while out hunting alone. It was a terrifying creature, some dragonic mix between a dragon, perhaps a skydancer, and one of the beasts of old that he had heard of long, long ago - a human. The creature, he presumed to be female, waved her hand. Magic spilled out of her paw, a purple glow that drew runes in the air. He stood mysticized as she worked her magic, wary of the beast before him but calmed by the swirls of light in front of him.

And then he died.

He didn't quite know how she did it. Magic wasn't his strong suit. It wasn't in the place of the warrior to understand the way of the mage. But he knew that he had died. The world was eclipsed in a purple glow and then nothing. He gazed down on his body, now somehow cast out of it. He watched as the female sauntered up to him and, in a flash of purple, somehow changed back into a skydancer and looked down at his now dead body. It is a strange sensation, looking down at the female who killed you as she observes your deceased corpse. Slowly she sat back on her two hind legs and lifted her front paws, placing them on his flank and chanting some strange words. Runes appeared on his sides, both on his current form and on his real body. Suddenly he felt a sucking sensation and was yanked back in the direction of his body.
