Eska is said to have been born of Shadow, emerging from the darkness in dragon form. Anyone who has seen him disappear back into the shadows would believe it. This ability is optimal for his job as a mediator, and his eyes and ears are always open for the first signs of trouble. With his keen senses, most inter-clan disputes are dissolved before they can even begin. Often too brooding for his own good, many label him as a spoilsport. All the same, they can't deny his calming effect on his boisterous friend Lazarus, and the boy knows how to bring out Eska's fun side.
All agree that Lumis's fading was a terrible tragedy, and many offer their sympathies to Eska, whose little light was snuffed out when his Companion passed. But lately something has changed within him: he has taken up her mantle, Seeing beyond sight, divining future events with increasing accuracy. A light shines from within him now: the light of Lumis, with him in spirit always.
