vervain #32201 - Pecan Pralines - This is one of the first recipes Tart learned to make in his home lair. He loved watching the cooking sugar swirl around in a big, dragon size cauldron as he and the other hatchlings waited for there to be enough candy for everyone.

There were some mistakes, like accidentally letting it boil, but she was quick to help him correct them. Tart is very appreciative for her kindness and will share the recipe with many others to come.

She explained that she loved to make her special balloon buns whenever tension was high or the clan had suffered a great loss, and it was always successful in lifting their spirits at least a little bit. It is effort and care." She showed him how even a haphazard hatchling-made scone can be made delicious with just the right amount of apricot jam. Tart made his own batch with his favourite strawberries spread; it was absolutely delicious! But to his shock Chio thought it was too sweet and couldn't take another bite! "Effort to understand different palates and care to match it, dear Tart" Sylphide concluded. He learned alot about not only the making of food, but tailoring flavours so that others could enjoy.

It was rather interesting, working in the lair's top-end kitchen with the young mirror lady who acted as chef. She was not overly skilled, but she poured her heart into everything she made, and Tart could feel the passion and love for her craft. This moved him deeply, resonating with his own love and passion of cooking. The two parted friends, and she gifted him the recipe before escorting him to the gate for a quick goodbye.

She was excited to share the recipe with me and equally eager to learn new recipes from me. This clan was very welcoming and I enjoyed great company, good music, and interesting art.

While he was there, he and his mother made one of his hatchling favorites, flavorful peppers stuffed full of gooey cheese and fried in crispy breading.
FirozTaverbi #297392 - Blueberry Muffin Cakes - Before he set off travelling again, Tart visited his sibling clan where he helped to develop a dessert that was a muffin and a cake for a particularly sweet-toothed hatchling. He also taught the clan a trick he had learned from his family: to get perfect muffin tops, cook your muffins at a higher temperature for five minutes before turning the oven down for the rest of the cooking time!

Yet there it was, on the very edge of the horizon--a dark lair against the setting sun. A Ridgeback sat at the bar, strange piano music filtering in. "You looking for a cook?" he asked. "All right. Just hide in the back of the bar and I'll bring 'er over." Soon enough, a Mirror trudged in, bringing in a little book full of recipes. After making her favorite dish, a s'mores ice cream pie, she urged him to leave the next day, which he did.

Similar to a paella, this tasty rice dish packs a spicy punch and is sure to please meat loving dragons as well.

From the moment he had his first bite of delicious food, Tart knew that his goal in life was to learn to create the most wonderful dishes dragonkind had ever tasted. His mother says this is in his blood, or at least his genes...check out that spicy-sweet combination of flavors (and be sure to check out his signature dish further down in this profile)! Ingredients Crust: - 1/4 cup butter, softened - 2/3 cup sugar - 1 large egg white - 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger - 1 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 cup milk chocolate chips Filling: - 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar - 2 tablespoons milk - 4 cups halved fresh strawberries Glaze: - 1/4 cup seedless strawberry jam - 1 tablespoon crystallized ginger, finely chopped |
Tart's Signature Recipe: Strawberry Chocolate Ginger Tart
Total Time: Prep: 25 min. Bake: 20 min. + chilling Makes: 12 servings Directions In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg white and ginger. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9-in. tart pan. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Sprinkle with chips. Bake 4-5 minutes longer or until chocolate is melted; spread over crust. Cool on a wire rack. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth; spread over chocolate. Top with strawberries. In a small microwave-safe bowl, microwave jam in 10-second intervals until melted; brush over strawberries. Sprinkle with ginger. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
