Lorien
The Crystal Pools had always been a mysterious place, despite its popularities with fighters from draconian clans. It was part of the Starfall Isles, after all, and like the Starwood Strand, it was imbued with an intangible something that all magical places had.
But unlike the Starwood Strand, there was nothing menacing about the Pools' magic. In fact, it was considered a place where it was possible to see into one's own mind. In the reflections of the brilliant crystals, in the mirrors of the sparkling pools, a brief glimpse of the dimension of dreams could be seen. It's safe to say that due to this reason, none who were born in the Crystal Pools were considered the ordinary dragon, and this held true for Lorien. How her egg came to be discovered in the Crystal Pools was a mystery as unsolvable as that of the Pools itself, but it is a fact known by all that being born in the Pools made her different. She could see, to be precise, more than the normal dragon could see. In the clear reflections of the Crystal Pools, she saw dreams where others saw rock bottom. And as others slept, she walked the dimension of dreams. But such abilities was not a gift everyone could welcome, for not only could Lorien see dreams, but she saw nightmares as well. And once she stared into a dream, there was no breaking the trance, and more often than not she was tormented by the nightmares that found, through the dream dimension, a way into her mind. Lorien's composure became conflicted, and soon she was unable to sleep for fear that the nightmares would drain her soul and twist her mind. At the advice of the few dragons that knew and did not fear her, she left the Crystal Pools behind and headed for the Observatory, hoping that the Arcanist could take away the abilities that were both a blessing and a curse. She never got there. The Starwood Strand, in contrast to the Crystal Pools' mysterious magic, was not as incorporeal, but definitely much stranger. After entering the Strand Lorien, who had until then held on to what was left of her dignity, completely lost it. The Strand had somehow amplified her magic, and there was nothing she could do as the terrors within her mind consolidated and ripped their way into the real world. Lorien had no strength to fight them, for they drew energy from her, and she was left helpless at the mercy of her own mind. It was only thanks to the intervention of an Arcane Clan nearby that Lorien survived. The nightmares were suppressed by the newcomers, and with their help, Lorien was able to seal away the corrupted dreams, greatly impressing those who came to her aid. Of course, Lorien passed out for a week after that...but still, it was quite an achievement. After she came to, Lorien found herself sheltered by an Arcane clan, who explained that they'd sensed her strange magic and were the ones that had restrained her nightmares until she could put them away. During her bout of unconsciousness, several of the more skilled mages had performed spells on her mind, allowing her to find rest in her sleep. With their help, Lorien found the courage and companions to wander once again into the dimension of dreams. There, she waged a battle against the numerous nightmares that had invaded her mind. It was not easy, fighting against manifestations of her own mind, but with the help of the others, she was finally able to break free of them. With the nightmares defeated and her mind at peace, Lorien no longer had a reason to traverse to the Observatory. Instead, she decided to stay with the ones who'd helped her and brought her serenity. Taking up the mantle of an oneirologist, Lorien joined the clan as its Dream Reader. Gentle and soft-spoken, Lorien is in charge of interpreting dreams in the clan, whether it be the nightmares of the hatchlings or the sweet dreams of other dragons. Occasionally, she also walks the dreams of her clanmates in order to chase out their nightmares and give them a good night's sleep. Because of this, Lorien is considered nocturnal, and can normally only be found after the sun sets, only when the clan is serving dessert after dinner. Lorien has visited the Crystal Pools on several occasions after her initial departure, and though she still carries some old feelings for her birthplace, she has little to no desire of returning. However, she does have a keepsake from her old home -- several crystals imbued with dream magic. Using the crystals, Lorien is able to grasp a better control of her abilities, and with them, she is better able to serve as the clan's Holder of Hopes and Dreams. Though Lorien is not a front-line fighter and has no desire to be, she can take action is the need arises. With her control over dreams enhanced by the Starwood Strand's strange magic, Lorien can quite literally summon nightmares right out of her opponent's minds, giving them quite a scare and quite a lot to deal with. She also has the ability to imprison someone in the dimension of dreams, an illusionary magic that forces you to face all your phobias and fears, or all your dreams and goals. Depending on the situation, the latter is less likely than the former. So never, never make Lorien mad, because she'll make you destroy you.
