Duskcaller

Personality Traits / TROPE TITLES.
She stood at the doorway with single-minded focus, the doors were jammed shut, the ancient machinery that winched them open had long since rusted shut from the dampness of the cave where she found the abandoned door. Behind the doors she knew there lay an ancient technological ruin, abandoned since the Second Age. She studied the faded letters etched into the doorway, the sand had scoured the letters down to the faintest shadow of the forgotten script. Her research had been exhaustive enough to know that, unlike last time, there were no ghoulish centaurlike creatures waiting within. She reached up with one foreclaw and touched the gemstone inlaid in her gorget. “Rally.” She said, bracing her hindclaws into the sand. The stone flared with the energy she’d stored into it, the stone cracked but did not crumble like it’s predecessor. She pressed her face close to the door, giving the metal seam a kiss that hissed and sparked and willed the bolt of electricity into the circuitry she could smell behind the metal sheets. Her keen ears picked up the surprised groan and whine of gears being forced into action. Shoving against the sands, she leaned into the doorway and the edges parted a few bare inches.. She quickly shoved her paw into the doorway, her claws scraped through the grimy rust, scrabbled for purchase and caught. Her muscles bulged as she pulled and reluctantly, fighting her the whole way, the doorway slid open. There was a whoosh of centuries old air. She wrinkled her nose and sniffed, no toxins, the faint lingering trace of mammalian sweat and old molding fabric. She reached back into her satchel, pulled one of her favorite creations from her belt. The gorget-stone flickered again as the candles activated, lighting up with a faint sputter and surrounding her in a halo of faint light and trailing smoke. She trilled softly and the dragon puppet on her shoulder raised its sensor frills, activating and taking flight. She directed one stack of glowing candles to stick to the puppet’s head and tossed both into the dark hallway, she whistling an action command through her teeth. The puppet flared to life, clattering and clanging as it snapped its wings open with a crackle of sparks. The puppet began to hover forward towards the nearest wall. Illuminated in Stormcatcher alone knew how many years were the dark letters of a long dead language.
Vault 77
Duskcaller smiled and stepped into the vault, following the light of her homonculus.
