Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this beautiful Fae bab wandered a little too far from her home lair (Hijax, #316089), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread. This isn't necessary, but she would be very grateful!

She is seeking out a mate to eventually travel with, so maybe one day she can settle down with an army of hatchlings at her side. She is cunning and sly with her moves, always staying one step ahead of everyone else. Similar to a queen bee, she wants to create her own hive. Hopefully with travelling, she can achieve her goal.

Travel Log:

Volrin: Wake's first adventure brought her to a welcoming lair in the Light flight, led by a powerful Fae named Myura. She didn't meet any boys that would make suitable mates, unfortunately, but she did meet a dashing young Coatl named Poncho who gifted her a gorgeous pastel necklace. He was quite comfortable in his lair and had no interest in adventuring, so he sadly couldn't leave with her: however, he promised that if fate were to ever bring her to him again, he would run away with her and join her on her travels.

That promise was more than enough for Wake; fondly saying their goodbyes, the Fae left once again on her journey.

Nennathriel: Her wings grew tired as she approached a high point on the Reedcleft Ascent. She saw two great Guardians and their clan, flying around and chasing each other in the reeds. As she sat upon a reed to rest her wings, the blue striped Guardian approached her, wondering from whence she came. Wake told her story, telling the Guardian all about home, and seeing the world, and the beautiful necklace she wore. She spoke of her ideals, and how badly she wished to be a mother one day. The Guardian introduced herself as Mother Sappho. "I know exactly who you'll get along with," Sappho said slyly, coaxing Wake to follow her. And so she did. She followed in her great footsteps to be greeted with -- what? Another Fae who looked...so similar to herself. But his wings were more colorful, and his body looked to have been made of pure crystal.

"This is Raegan, my former Shadow Flight Ambassador. He, much like you, has been yearning to travel the world. Make what you will of that." Mother Sappho chuckled, leaning in to whisper to Wake. "I was a Fae too, once. Trust me on this one." With a wink, Sappho disappeared into the reeds.

Raegan and Wake had many long conversations heading into the night. Eventually, she went back with him to Sappho's lair. He extended a reluctant invitation for Wake to stay with the Seabreezes, but she had to decline, for her heart wished to travel. "Mine too, darling." Raegan cooed. "I wish to get away, as well. Shall I follow you?"

"That's none of my business. But I certainly won't object." Wake said with a smile.

And so, the next morning, they set off on their journey.

Volrin: Wake feared returning to Poncho to tell him of the affection she now held for Raegan; he had been her first love, and while she still held feelings for the soft-hearted Coatl, she couldn't bear to leave her new Fae mate. She felt that, at the very least, she should come back to him and be honest about what had happened since the last time they were together.

However, as it turns out, there was no need to worry! Poncho was delighted to hear that Wake had met another dragon that she loved, and even admitted that he would be open towards a polyamorous relationship hetween her, himself, and Raegan. Wake had... certainly never considered that as an option! Fortunately, Raegan seemed to be accepting of a three-dragon relationship as well, and welcomed Poncho into their traveling group with open arms.

Gently clasping her cherished pastel necklace, Wake set out on the road again, two of her favourite dragons following closely behind her.

GrinningWolf24: Wake was becoming quickly agitated. "Less travel, more hatchling army-making!" had become a common refrain that Raegan and Poncho had come to hear. Or come to bear. For while they both loved her, she did have her faults. And impatience was obviously one of them. But love is a crazy and irrational beast, so they, despite much eye-rolling at hearing that sentence one more time, continued to make her happy. Continued to listen. They stopped at the next clan they came to- a Plague-bound herd of Tundras. While down on their luck, they were generous and willing to house travelers in their meager city of tents.

And it was here that Raegan and Poncho discussed life and plans while Wake flitted about, looking for the nesting grounds. While she was busy, they came to a consensus- they should split up. More ground could be covered in two groups, rather than one. And while they all loved each other, only two of them could nest together at a time. That limited the number of hatchlings they could provide their dear Wake with. So they hatched their scheme. Poncho nestled in to Raegan, tenderly saying goodbye for what could be quite a while, and then disappeared, determined to find a mate in this clan so as to provide more hatchlings to Wake.

Raegan, meanwhile, worked on the other half of the plan. Searching the grounds, he came upon Wake near the nursery tent, and with a yarn of how Poncho had found an even more luxurious and optimal nesting spot just over that hill, no, that one, he managed to get the ball rolling. Or in this case, Wake. He escorted her away to a different clan to nest there. Poncho watched, his feathers drooping as the pair disappeared into the horizon. Even having made this conscious decision, it broke his heart to be away from his dear Raegan and Wake. He would miss them until they met up once more.

Volrin: However, it wasn't long before the loneliness of being a solo traveler caught up to Poncho. He missed his family ever so dearly, and he wasn't even really sure where he could find them anymore. So, with no other options and pangs of sorrow slowly creeping up into his heart, the Coatl spread his feathery wings into the soft wind and flew away; he returned home.

He remained in his old clan for quite some time, trying to recapture the happiness that being with his Fae partners had given him, but the aching in his heart was relentless. He made sure to check with every single traveler who passed through the clan to see if they had any idea of Wake and Raegan's whereabouts, but he got no answers. It was almost as if they had just dropped off the face of Sornieth!

Poncho was starting to lose hope of ever seeing them again. His mind started to wander, and it wasn't long before he was fearing the absolute worst: what if they had been washed away at sea, or taken hostage by Beastclans, or caught in a cyclone in the Wind domain and ripped up by the sharp winds, or worst of all, kidnapped and sacrificed to a dragon deity?!

One day, Poncho finally got the answer he was looking for; Wake and Raegan returned to his home in the Sunbeam Ruins, looking just as miserable and forlorn as he did. He swept them up in a loving, feathery embrace, and as all three of them began to sob away, they poured their hearts out to each other and shared just where their adventures had taken them since they split up.

After that, the trio agreed that they would never split up again; wherever they went on their adventures, they would go together. Even if it was something as frightening as exaltation, they would face it as partners. Even Wake agreed to this, and expressed her deep sorrow at ever making Poncho feel like he was unwelcome or a burden to them.

They took a quick break from their travels to bring a few new hatchlings into the world; Wake and Raegan had indeed raised a small army of Fae hatchlings while Poncho was gone, so it was about time Wake and Poncho got to raise a nest together as well. They gave birth to two beautiful little Fae, Duskdream and Virgil, who stayed with their mother and fathers until the moment they were old enough to travel, and then they were gone.

The Coatl and his Fae partners were soon to follow.

The Tipsy Traveler Inn:
GrinningWolf24, #212075, 1/12/19
Meeting Hub of Traveling Dragons, City of Caesura, Wind Territory
They made a brief stay in the Wind Territory city of Caesura during their travels. They had heard through the grapevine that a new gathering place and rest stop had opened there, and wanted to see it with their own eyes. It was everything that could be hoped for! The Rest Hub itself was an old-fashioned inn that had been set up just across the street from a fun local watering hole. There were plenty of other familiar faces also stopping by to see the new space, and stories and drinks aplenty were shared!

....Wake awoke with a start. Her head was throbbing and the world seemed to be spinning around her. Or perhaps the confusion and vertigo we caused by the surrounding darkness. She reached out a clawed hand, but immediately had it stopped by a surface in front of her. Feeling along it with growing dread, she found an edge, a seam. Another. Another wall. Floor. Roof.

A box. She was in a box. Why was she in a box?! Where was she in a box? And where were Raegen and Poncho?! Were they both in similar situations? She pondered the question as she waited, hoping that someone would come along to let her out so she could figure out what exactly had happened....

Hijax, #316089 (Home Lair)

Wake was startled by the sudden light as the box's lid she was in was taken off. She recognized her old leader immediately. She leaped out of the box and latched onto his shoulder. Wake was so happy to be home, she realized she'd done enough traveling.
Then she blinked.
Where were her mates? She began scouring the area, but her eyes did not find her beloved fae or coatl. She was in despair, but torn because she was happy to be home. Topaz, her leader, was very confused nonetheless. He did not expect a dragon to pop out of the box, but he was pleased to see Wake once more. Wake would forever live in the clan from now on, telling many a dragon her tales of her travels.
All while she seeks out her mates until the end.
