LENKA

LENKA is one of a pair of twin Spiralform automatons, the other being Circuitbreak. LENKA was the prototype; he is not a true robot, but rather, a combination of robotics and artificial tissue known as a "lifebot". He behaves in an energetic and erratic manner, as Duke was unable to entirely reverse engineer and repair his systems. Despite this, he is a great deal more coherent than he was when they first found him.

The two have dubious origins, claiming they come from a clan that seems to no longer exist (or at least, is no longer located in Lightning territory). They were brought in to Duke by the scavengers, who found them roaming the desert.

LENKA was artificially created by Leth and Bronmai with the help of Sivir and Wiztix (and possibly also Caern and/or Seneca). He's a rather mangled looking mess of circuitry, metal, and semi-living tissues in the general shape of a Spiral.

LENKA doesn't really speak or understand any language, but he often babbles random syllables, some of which are actually words, though it's pretty apparent that he doesn't actually know what they mean. He can see (though he doesn't seem to be able to comprehend what he sees very well), hear (same with hearing), and walk (but he usually just shoots off from the ground in seemingly random directions in bounds that aren't quite flying).

It's difficult to discern LENKA's personality, or whether or not he actually has one in the first place rather than just being a deranged robot thing. His creators believe the former, and are very grieved that a soul has to live like this and that they had a part in making it so.[/font][/color]

LENKA's creation was... not totally intentional. He was created by Leth and Bronmai in an attempt to make an artificially intelligent robot. Everything was going as planned until one night; some say one of the mages did it; neither Seneca nor Caern have said anything confirming or denying this claim, but that being said, Seneca rarely speaks, and Caern never does.
Some rumor started (it probably came from Ruth) that LENKA stands for 'Loose Energy Naughty Karma Accident'. Most are skeptical as to the truth of this rumor.

LENKA was being kept in the EarthLab, the contents of which were temporarily moved into the LifeLab. It was the safest place anyone could think of to keep him at the time.

Lise and Bronwen had been having a sort of silent war over LENKA. For this reason, it had been decided that he should probably go- as long as he was there, that tension would remain at the Center.


LENKA's current residence is with The Shatterpoint Myriad. He was found wandering about on the fringes of their territory by Oblitus, who was on one of his routine patrols. The damaged automaton was escorted back to the lair, in hopes that Duke could do something to help the sorry thing. Not much in the way of repairs has come out of the mechanic's attempts, though the Circuitbreak incident proves that there's certainly more to LENKA than his contorted frame indicates at first glance.
