Biography
- the air always feels slightly warmer next to Dmitri, as if his power is reaching out, unable to remain within his own body; when he uses his necromancy the warmth that usually surrounds him is replaced by a sudden biting cold that reaches down to the very bones
- is one of the oldest magistari, second only to Sable
- is known as the best elemental fire mage in the Magistarius, hence why so few people know that he's also a necromancer
- he reanimates bodies using a mix of necromancy and elemental fire
- those that are reanimated through this method seem to actually be alive and have their own thoughts and emotions and consciousness, although they are still bound to Dmitri's will
- Dmitri tried to reanimate someone he knew once, and that was when he realized that he wasn't bringing the dead back to life, but instead was creating new entities to occupy the newly emptied bodies
- eventually the fire which gave his creations life will burn them up: first their bodies, and then, with nothing else to feed upon, the fire will also burn the 'consciousness' of the individual it created and destroy them. it could take weeks, months, years.
- he refuses to create bonds with his creations, no matter how beautifully alive and intelligent they might be; after all, they will eventually fade away, burned by the very fire that brought them to life
- Yulesun, his newest creation, is already being burned up, but at a slow rate, and he's the most intelligent and lively of his creations by far. despite Dmitri's gruff exterior, he's afraid he's already becoming attached
- Dmitri's goal is to find a way for that fire, that life, to never be extinguished. he wants his creations to be able to live forever or, at least, to have a normal lifespan. so far he has gotten no closer to finding a solution
- easily obsesses over things, ambitious
- has spells written all over his bones
