Biography
Background
Born in the Ashfall Wastes, Shaima lived in a tightly-knit mirror pack, roaming the landscape. When her pack traveled to the Blacksand Annex for better hunting, young Shaima was petrified by the large, dangerous creatures that sometimes attacked the pack's camp. The fear eventually broke her and her behavior became irrational as she descended deeper and deeper into madness. Her pack exalted her from the pack. The Flamecaller tried to heal her mind, but Shaima resisted, further damaging herself. The Flamecaller finally gave up on her and released her into Plague territory. Shaima lived there for a long time. Eventually, Shaima's body began to decline, and she flew to the Frigid Floes, searching for safety. That was where Durnatel found her, wandering around, starving, and searching. Durnatel took Shaima back to The Manor where he treated her wounds and fed her. Shaima's mind was just able to grasp his kindness to her and she never let him out of her sight since.
Job
Shaima has mellowed out into a kind, if a little unbalanced grandmother figure. She cannot seem to talk, but rumbles and growls, trying to get some mysterious point across. Many hatchlings are afraid of her, but whenever a dragonet finds themselves in her quarters for whatever reason, Shaima will always have a few little sweets or some warm cookies to share, accompanied with a little "firework" show.
Relationships
Shaima is devoted to Durnatel and will seem to worry if he departs for long periods of time. Shaima also cares for dragonets, especially Cerna, who quickly became her fixation.
At that moment, an elderly mirror peered over the top of the table. "Mmmmrrrrrrlllp? Aeroo!" Her entire body was badly scarred and slightly deformed. Her movements were clumsy and abrupt but even so, she opened her mouth slightly and pulled back her lips, as if trying to smile.
Suddenly, she scrabbled at one of the tins that was bound to her chest. Finally, she managed to open it and plunged her talons into the tin with a small squeal. Eventually, she held up her prize: a very lumpy chocolate cookie. She attempted to drop the cookie in front of Casey, but her claws had gotten stuck. She flailed, trying to dislodge it, but only suceeded in smacking herself in the face and getting chocolate all over herself. She coiled up on the ground with a grumbling sound, trying to lick herself clean.
