B I O G R A P H Y

He was born into the grace of the Plaguebringer's Flight to Lattice and Witchcraft. They named him Venture, due to his longing for something more the the warmth and safety of their Plague mother. He constantly escaped the nest looking for something better than the ease of home. After wandering farther than normal, he found himself on the edge of the Tangled Wood were a number of dragons were darting between the trees, strange shapes in the mist and lights that were playing tricks. And so it was the little Venture of the Scarred Wasteland came to join the Trickmurk Circus.

Venture was taught to entertain. He quickly learned to laugh when he was supposed to. He learned to cheer and toss coins from within a crowd to encourage others to do so. He learned how to control a crowds fear and awe. But perhaps most importantly, he learned how to get the most out of the people around them. "Life," his old Mentor told him, "is full of suckers, waiting to spend their gold and gems on something they think is worth it. Your job is to find out what it is they want, and make them believe their dream has come true." And so Venture became a professional conman. He also developed a weakness for gambling.

Of course, Venture eventually cheated the wrong dragons, and was cast out of the circus. He
