As the founder of the clan, Cassius leads the other dragons with a stern, but calm demeanor. He considers himself a gentleman and a scholar, teaching his clan the ways of the arcane. Despite being a fair leader, he is extremely vain. Cassius prides himself in his knowledge and his looks, especially in the gems that adorn his body. He also is a risk taker, in both a good way and a bad way. Always trying new things and experiments; however, he sometimes does not take into account the consequences of his experiments and can accidentally hurt someone or something. When he does mess up, he does try to make amends. He can be seen constantly grooming himself or studying in his sleeping area. Although despite his wise, even if flawed, demeanor, Cassius was not always like this.

In the beginning, there was a pack of mirrors from the Scarred Wasteland that decided to nest in the Starfall Isles. When they went to leave, Cassius, who was frail for a mirror, couldn't keep up with them. Abandoned as an adolescent, Cassius went out to forge his own path in life. His ambitions grew each lonely day, with his only companions being the arcane magic that surrounded his home and his wild ideas. On his travels, he managed to catch the Arcanist's eye and appeased him enough to finally earn him his own clan. He was a one man clan for a while, until he met Ada, a similarly ambitious and proud dragon. The lady mirror was a lot cruder than Cassius, who was fairly polite, and their vain natures clashed occasionally. It took a while for them to warm up to each other, but when they did they got to work with their projects together straight away.

They began taking in other dragons and hatchlings to slowly grow their clan. Of course, the clan was very disorganized when they first started due to Cassius's and Ada's inexperience. Even with the odds against them, they managed to recruit many dragons, and even adopted a hatchling themselves named Kalma. After raising her, the two mirrors decided they wanted children of their own. Out of their first clutch, almost all of their children went to serve under the Arcanist once they reached adulthood, all except for one. Cassius's first born who he took the most pride in, Elio.

As Cassius became more social and clan began to stabilize, Cassius felt his body wasn't pretty enough for him. Feeling envious of the beautiful and lithe form of the skydancer, he made his first major project to transform himself into one. After much research and hard work, he finally succeeded, much to the irritation of Ada. She did not like the idea of Cassius changing his body into, in her eyes, a weaker form, but none of his mate's criticisms reached his ears. Instead, he became arrogant and excited by what he could do with his magic and knowledge next. His accomplishment made him wonder what other great things he could do to defy the norms.

And so came his greatest project that he roped many dragons, including his son and mate, into. A powerful and large crystal weapon that would store immense amount of arcane magic. Once it had enough power, Cassius would unleash the weapon's beam, which would launch into the sky, divide, and spread as it rained arcane terror on the enemy flight. He would build the weapon just on the edge of his clan's territory, and once he was ready he would make sure the Arcane Flight won dominance permanently. When the time finally came to test it and officially introduce his creation onto the world, Alusair, his second hand man and best friend, spoke up against him. Hurt by his doubts, he brushed away his comments and told him to have the utmost confidence in him. At that moment, he sent his son and a small army to go turn on the weapon outside the clan...

...And that was the last time he saw his first born son, Elio. A pink flash took his son and the small army that happened to be with him. When the couple went to see what happened to their son, all they could find was his charred bones. Stricken with guilt, the two stepped down from their positions for a short time, unable to think of what to do next for their clan. Cassius had inadvertently killed his own child due to his own arrogance. That fact still continues to haunt him, even to this day.

After a long period of depression, Cassius came to the conclusion he needed to change the clan. He thought long and hard about what he wanted for the clan, until he realized what made him love the arcane and magic in the first place. From then on, he promised himself to educate others, and to never create such weapons ever again. He humbly accepted the Arcanist's punishment towards the clan for their destructive behavior, and agreed to help other dragons find the path to redemption.
