She was from the homeland of the Shadow flight, deep in the foxfire bramble she started out on her own, in search of more colors to capture, to ensnare, to manipulate. Home was very dark, purples and blues abound but not much else for her to find. She had mastered the colors from home, all but the blackest of blacks - and she dare not attempt that till she had every color she desired to arm herself with. Capturing the blackness would be a fight, a challenge she wished to face well armed. Her travels took her across Sornieth, from place to place, following the nearest rainbow, only changing direction with the weather. She has to catch the rainbows, she wants all the colors together. Along the way she captures one or two, here and there. Bottles and jars clinking in her bags. She should pack them better she thinks, before one breaks and she gets color all over the place. Color is a strange thing, when it is just the color. Its not solid, but its not liquid. Plasma is the best description, but it also isn't. You can touch plasma, you can't touch a color. It exists and it doesn't, in a weird state of containment in the magically strengthened containers. She finds herself in many sticky situations, sometimes her colors help her out, sometimes they are the reason she is in the situation in the first place! Her favorite was when she found herself climbing down a ledge to get a particularly bright shade of red out of the rock, and she surprised a nesting vulture. The vulture was very unhappy she was so close to the nest, and attacked. The vulture accidentally knocked one of its eggs out of the nest, and Brilliant reached out and caught it at the last second..Even more enraging the parent. She placed the egg as quickly as she could and took flight, not far behind the vulture flew, screeching and crying behind her. Eventually she outflew the bird, she lamented the loss of the color, but did not want to endanger the babies again. ________________________________________ |

One of the worse situations she found herself surrounded by beastclan monsters, all hellbent on devouring her whole. The only thing that saved her was a passing twister - she had been chasing the rain all day, without looking where she was going.. After that she found her bearings and took the safest way to a small town. She had told them of her quest to find all the colors, and they knew just where she should go. The resident dragons pointed her north, to the brightest land around, the pinkest area, the land of science and experimentation. A string of islands where she could find every color imaginable, and a few she never imagined to boot. She travelled swiftly, forgetting her weather patterns, charts and maps in her bags. Arriving at last at the waypoint in the crystalspine reaches, she inquired of a place to stay for a time, to gather her bearings and find a new place to call home. She slept and rested fitfully, and inspected the tomes of homes, searching for the perfect place. She found it on page 394, midway down with a small photo of the founding dragons. "Shadow..." she murmured. The listing mentioned a secretive clan but a closeknit and knowledge driven society. They had travelled to the Observatory from the forum of the obscured crescent, near her first home. She knew this was where she belonged, and ripped the listing from the book - regretting it immidiately, and taped it back in. Copying the directions, she packed and left in a hurry. Her entrance was grand, given her stature. Most of the clan turned up for her arrival. How they knew she was coming was beyond her, but she was happy - surrounded by color. A voice came from the middle of the throng "I sssssee you have made it here sssssuccessfully..." Brilliant looks around for the voices owner, eyes landing upon a small mirror with a regal stance, and piercing purple eyes. The mirror moved closer, the other dragons parting to let her pass. "Y-yes, yes I found the journey rough but invigorating. My name is Bri-" but she was cut off.."Brilliant, yessss. I know of you. Our ressssearcherssss inquired of you during your travelssss from the reachessss. I have gathered the brightesssst of our cult here for you to meet. Should they deem you of...no ill will, you will be permitted a bed and a laboratory, sssshould you require one. "I am honored, but might I know your name?" The mirror turned around, nodding to the assembled dragons. "Ssssurely, when you have proven yoursssself to ussss..." ________________________________________ |
