..........“What? What is it? I’m a very busy dragon, mind you, and I have no time for idle chatter. If you’re here to bore me with useless, non-intellectual matters, then I would suggest you leave. Right now.”

“...Oh? I see. So you’re new here. Big deal. Many have come here before you. You’re not the first, and you most definitely won’t be the last. Honestly, I can’t say I care much about the majority of you; All about glory and conquest and matters so trivial and finite that I can’t believe anyone would fall for its flimsy lure.”

“Hey- HEY! Don’t you dare lump me in with the rest of the caretakers here just like that! I’ll have you know that I seek a deeper purpose than they- Lana might help you find your heart’s desire, Mei may be able to clear you of your worries, but me? I aim to help those who wish to, understand the world through poetry!”

“Unimpressed? Pah! You just don’t understand! The expression of something in which meaning cannot be derived from is what I aim to achieve! Only through poetry, may such wild and untamed thoughts be understood! And only through poetry, may such words be immortalized! Much better than the temporary, fleeting feeling of conquest and achievement, no?”

“...Tch. Fine, then. If you aren’t able to appreciate what is it I am trying to achieve, then I suppose there’s no saving you. Now then, please kindly remove yourself from my presence. I have other, more important matters to contemplate… Heh heh heh…”

..........There aren’t many dragons within the inn who could stand to be near the skydancer, but if one truly wishes to discuss matters which retain a more academic alignment, then the inn’s local poet, Liam, is unfortunately, your best option.

It is not unusual to see the other residents of the inn being put off by the skydancer’s arrogant, haughty and aggressive nature. For every perceived slight, for every suspected inconvenience, and for every discerned disagreement, Liam would have nothing but slights and vile words hurled towards the offending dragon as he brandishes his rapier, threatening to extract blood as payment for their heinous insult, and though the skydancer scarcely follows through with his threat of violence, his vitriol is malice enough for most dragons to avoid him like a plague.

In fact, the skydancer’s rotten character seems to have put him at clear odds with the other innkeepers on more than one occasion as well, a more notable example of which was the imperial Maximus. The two innkeepers barely appeared toacknowledge the other, but in the sparse times they did, something in the immediate area was about to be broken beyond repair. The two’s spats never cease to be a constant source of headache for the innkeeper Lana.

Still, whether you find him approachable or not, there remains a few dragons which often consult Liam on his opinions regarding intellectual matters. If you are at all into such subject matters, those that flock around Laim would assure you of the skydancer’s wisdom, his grace and finesse in articulating the unintelligible, and finding meaning within the garbled chaos which is the mortal, waking world. That is, if you can get past his general horridness to begin with.

I remember when I first met you
My mind lost in a reverie
While I was flying in worlds of wishes
You were weighed down by your wings

You were young as the silver moon
And as lovely as could be
Did you see me smile as I walked by
And praised your shining beauty?

You were shy and you had your sorrows
You swayed like a willow in the wind
You seemed grounded by your gnarled roots
And against darkness, unable to win

But I could see a strength inside you

I thought that like others you'd disappear
Lost, as I travelled with the wind

But two decades later, fool you were
You thanked me for your name
I laughed, but it was fitting
For your beauty and soul were the same.
