The young imp smiled as she strolled across the field of gold. Her mind told her that she needed to be careful, there was danger here and being weary could save her. Her heart argued, when you search for a reason to fear you find a reason to fear. Her heart wouldn't let her live like that. She couldn't, no she wouldn't live a life in fear.

She hesitated for a moment then giggled to herself and leapt upon some of the golden strands. Not many people came here because of "the monster." She had seen this supposed monster and followed him back to his lair. He didn't seem as scary as they said. Instead he seemed sad. He'd smile though when she sang for him, he seemed to like the company. There were others too. Dragons who seemed to be exiled from life among their own for a pecularity in their appearance or behavior. She couldn't leave them be. She'd visit them daily and drew them together with her songs. They seemed to fear each other as much as any other, but with a soft word and a gentle nudge she drew them to a haven, her haven, and the loved it. She sang for them, and they danced. They laughed and smiled, free from a world that would persecute them. This was how things would stay she decided. She'd never let them suffer loneliness again. They'd always have her as their friends, and hesitantly they found friends in each other. Friends that they would keep forever. Friends that she would keep safe.

Still this wasn't always enough for her. She'd often wander from her haven, to rescue others who'd been abandoned. She'd never leave them to suffer. There was nothing she'd rather do. So she helped them, and guided them to her haven. With a smile, always a smile, always a soft word, and gentle nudge, she'd guide them. This was their safe haven, their peaceful wonderland.
