Even when he was a hatchling Nocturnis had strong magic, which only got more powerful as he grew up. This manifested into his most useful ability of disappearing into shadows when danger properly entered his life in the form of the Beastclans.

Nocturnis is kind, strong, noble, cunning when needed to be and brave. He is a great fighter and cares deeply about his clan-mates and his family. He is mourning his sister Solaris, who fell into the Wyrmwound. He would lay down his life for his clan.

For some reason Nocturnis never scars, even though he has gotten several scar-worthy wounds throughout his life.

He fights to defend the clan from danger alongside Twiggs, his mate, and Foxstar, a friend and powerful ally ever since he found the kitsune injured in the Gladeveins.

"The night is my home, my guardian and my deity. I am never more calm than when I'm in the pitch-black, unable to see, but knowing that I am safe."

"I'm sorry, who did what now? You lost me after you said 'wartoad hat pigeon toes.'"

BIOGRAPHY

____Nocturnis lived with his parents and siblings as a hatchling in the Tangled Woods, and learned from his parents about the world and proper etiquette, the same as many hatchlings in Sornieth. But soon the beastclans came and took that all away.

____He was woken up in the depths of the night by the sounds of dragons screaming and other hatchlings crying in terror.
Frightened, Nocturnis hid in a dark corner of the den. His dark colouring camouflaged him perfectly, and he went unnoticed to the serthis and centaurs raiding his home. It was over quickly,
and all the hatchlings from his clan were rounded up and taken away. The sun rose and attempted to illuminate the Woods before Nocturnis crept out of his hiding place. And he found he was not alone. A young centaur foal paced the main clearing in the mist. Noting that the centaur had not noticed him, he crept closer, confidence growing. When he was fairly close, the centaur turned and saw him, resulting in them both yelling in fright. A hesitant alliance formed, and they talked. The centaur told him what was going to happen to Nocturnis's siblings and the other dragons the beastclans had rounded up. They were to be killed during a beastclan festival celebrating their victory.

BIOGRAPHY

____Determined to stop them, Nocturnis spent weeks learning how to fly. By the time he could fly a satisfactory distance, the celebration was only days away. And so he left what remained of his Clan's lair, and flew to where the beastclans gathered. Under the cover of darkness, he entered the camp. The beastclan warriors were everywhere, and it wasn't long until one turned to face Nocturnis's direction as he tried to find the other dragons. He froze in place, knowing he would stick out as a darker splotch in the shadows.
But the beastclan warrior didn't seem to see him.

BIOGRAPHY

____Confused, Nocturnis looked at himself, but he was still there, visible. And then he felt the magic coursing through him. Knowing that it was this that let him not be seen, he continued on. Soon he stumbled across a ramshackle hut where they housed the dragons. Upon entering, he realized that it had not been just his clan that had been pillaged. Along with the familiar hatchling faces, there was also three unknown hatchlings and five tired-looking adult dragons shackled to the floor. He freed them, and returned back to the empty lair with the dragons that wished to follow him.

SOLARIS

____Nocturnis's sister, Solaris, was the second in command of the clan, and was nearly as powerful as Nocturnis. She returned with him the day he saved what was left of the clan from the beastclans, along with his brother (Jadeclaws), Twiggs and other dragons. Long after this event, when they were adults, nearly the entirety of the clan (except Eiwyrn) left to 'complete what needed to be done.' Sadly for everyone, while off doing this Solaris met her demise by falling into the Wyrmwound. Nocturnis is still haunted by this fact,
and blames himself for not being able to save her. Twiggs is unsure if he'll ever stop mourning.

SHADOWS

____As he discovered in the Beastclan camp, Nocturnis has the ability to disappear into shadows, like he wasn't there. However, he can be touched while using this magic, and if he walks out of the shadows or has a light disperse the shadows he will be visible once more. The shadows do not get darker in the spot where he is; in fact, it looks no different in the spot at all. Once he grew more powerful, Nocturnis could extend this ability to other dragons/creatures, but he must be touching them and using the power at the same time.

His Webwing Alpha's name is Karshrin. Karshrin enjoys bossing around the other familars, and he enjoys being in Nocturnis's presence. Although short-tempered, he can be quite sweet, bouncing around when Nocturnis comes back from something.

Goes by the name of Sheikha. She speaks in soft whispering tones that you have to lean in to hear. No one knows where she originated from or what she was doing before she became Nocturnis's Familiar. She arrived with Twiggs's Magma runner, sweeping into the Lair on silent wings with Starfire on her heels.

Calls itself Fangbone and claims to be a beserker.
Yet to be proved, but no one really wants to cross him anyway, so...
Takes his job as a familiar seriously, and acts like Nocturnis is his charge and he's a guardian!
