Biography

Hello! I am Gamya, a guide dragon for new players and for returning players looking for a refresher on how things work around here. I'm here to help you out with just that! You can also PM my assistant, Sandwichcats, if you require any further assistance or are confused. You can do so by scrolling down a bit and clicking "Send Message". Without any further ado, let's go!

Here is a link that contains all sorts of onsite and offsite links in one, neat thread!
It contains almost everything you need to know to get started, but of course, I will post here the basics for your convenience. But don't let me stop you from checking it out!

~Progens~
When you created your account, you were prompted to create your first dragon. This is called your progenitor, or as they are nicknamed, progens. Afterwards, another dragon wandered in to your lair; this is your randomized progenitor. It's up to your whether you want to keep or exalt them, but keep in mind that you don't get any treasure from exalting them unlike other dragons. Choose wisely if you really want to get rid of them.

~Exalting~
Yes, you do get treasure from exalting dragons! Exalting is considered, in lore, a high honor as the dragons are being sent straight to their flights deity. The higher level they are, the more treasure you earn from exalting them. Exalting is completely optional and is not required for you to proceed in the game. Don't worry, you can earn treasure other ways!

~Gathering~
Gathering is separated in to six parts; Hunting, Fishing, Insect Catching, Foraging, Digging, and Scavenging. I recommend gathering for food first in any of the first four areas before trying out digging and scavenging as your dragons will begin to grow hungry over time. The more dragons that you have in your lair, the more food you will need to feed them. To see which food your dragons need to eat, just hover over their picture while viewing your lair and looking under 'Diet'. It will tell you there what they eat. For example, Guardians will eat everything but a Fae will only eat insects. Make sure that you convert the food within your hoard so that it counts. Keep in mind that you only have 15 gathering turns per day unless your flight has dominance!

~Fairgrounds~
Here you can play minigames to earn treasure for expansion of your lair and buying items. This is your main source of making money. But keep in mind, you have a limit on how much treasure you make each day, which is 75,000. Each day on rollover of the server, this resets and allows you to begin earning treasure again!

~Trading Post~
The Trading Post has a lot of places to visit including a daily trivia, free item grab and a swap stand. I'll introduce you to each of these places starting with the bottom left of the map and going clockwise.

Swipp's Swap Stand - Here, you can trade specific items in for exclusive items that cycle out every two hours. So keep an eye out for something you may want! You can see what items he and his daughters offer here. [Click here!]
Tomo's Trivia Tablet - You can answer questions FlightRising related here for some extra treasure, especially if you still need some money after hitting the cap in the Fairgrounds. If you're stumped on a question, you can always go here for some answers. [Click here!]
Crim's Collection Cart - You can trade in some extra items here for a bit of cash if it happens to be listed up at Crim's. However, Crim tends to ask for items that are worth more than she's offering for them, so be careful not to trade in an item without checking its price on the Auction House first!
Pinkerton's Plundered Pile - You can get an item for free daily here. So make sure to come here each day for a chance at something good!
Baldwin's Bubbling Brew - This one may seem a bit confusing at first, but it's easy to get the hang of once you know how everything works. You can melt down just about everything in your hoard here including familiars. Here is a guide that shows you what you get with each category. [Click here!] You can create new things with the stuff you melted down such as food, apparel, familiars and battle stones. This all varies according to your level. You can level by melting down objects and creating objects.

~Auction House~
You can sell your items here to other players if you wish. There are three kinds of Auctions; your Flight Auctions, Realm-Wide Auctions, and Private Auctions. In Flight Auctions, you can sell your items to people that are only in your flight while in Realm-Wide Auctions, you can sell your items to anyone in any flight. The Private Auctions are for specific people only where your items are only available to them and to you.

~Coliseum~
The Coliseum is completely optional and not required for you to proceed with the game, but it is a something I personally recommend trying out at least once. This also ties in with the levels of your dragons I mentioned in the Exalting section above earlier, where the higher level a dragon is, you get more money out of exalting. Some people raise a dragon to level 25 and use it to train two other dragons for exalting while some make a full team of level 25 dragons to grind in a venue for a chance at some good loot.

~Festive Favors~
This is a place that is only open on the last week of each month to trade in certain tokens for exclusive prizes during a flight holiday. All items except for emblems -a piece of apparel- are retired and replaced with something new each year, so be sure to get enough of something you want before it's gone! You can get these tokens by going in to the 'Gather Items' section on the left side of your screen and scavenging in the current holiday's flight type! For example, for the Mistral Jamboree, you would scavenge in Wind since it is a Wind holiday. To find out which holiday is next, you can check here. [Click here!]

~Dominance~
Dominance is a fight between all flights for bonuses such as extra gathering turns, items in the marketplace costing less and your next lair expansion costing less. Flights fight for dominance by exalting dragons to their flights deity all week until Sunday, where it's determined who won. You can see who's currently winning by looking on the right of the page where all the flights are listed. The one at the very top of the list is currently first while the two below it are second and third. There can only be three flights chosen for dominance each week.

~Crossroads~
The Crossroads is a place where you can trade dragons and items to other players or send them a gift. There is a One-Way Delivery and a Two-Way Trade. If you want to gift someone or trade them something and expect nothing in return, you'll want to choose the One-Way Delivery especially when sending Exalt fodder. If you're trading a dragon for another dragon, you'll want to choose the Two-Way Trade so that you get something in return. You can also attach a message if you want.
