Conscience is no more than the Dead speaking to us ____________ A band of traveling merchants marched through a massive storm, towards the eye the winds began to dissipate. The rain let up, and the wagon towing dragonfolk decided to rest while they could. One of them stumbling upon a "blank" egg, a pure white egg being washed away by the mudslides. Fascinated by the prospects of money, the Merchant snatched the egg and stowed it in their cart. This egg was cold, almost transparent - it brought spectators from far and wide to see the mysterious unhatchable egg. Years went by, the egg was bounced around from Merchant to Collector to Thief. Forever cold, forever unhatched and forever a mystery. Another storm towered over the lands, flooding the streets and setting trees a blaze. A storm of this ferocity hadn't been seen in years, not sense the mysterious egg had surfaced. The egg had found itself in the hands of another Merchant, tucked away in a carriage wrapped in blackened silks. In an event of fate the cart was struck with that of lightning, and the flames engulfed the treasures inside. From sparks and ash rose a white haze, taking the shape of the first dragon it saw. A transparent Imperial hovered above the ash and molten golds, watching the dragonfolk curiously as they stared in horror. They named her Keres, believing she was a sign of the apocalypse. An evil spirit sent as a reminder of the evil the dragonfolk had done, to haunt them to their graves. Keres is a lost being, plagued by loneliness from the others' fear. She only wishes to understand what she is, and where she came from.
