Personality:
Nobody knows much about Rei; to many, she doesn't exist anymore. But, if Rei were to describe herself, she would consider herself an observer. There's not much else she can do. Rei prefers the shadows of the back of the lair to the dusty sunlight of the entrance. She enjoys watching the hatchlings play near her dwelling, but she tries to not get involved. Other entertainment included playing with her Snowfall Elk who always stayed near. Members of the Herd have tried bonding him to several dragons, but he always remained loyal to Rei. Eventually, the Herd gave up and let him stay in the lair without a (living) partner. Rei is neither caring nor unkind, she simply watches on the sidelines.
Lore:
Rei remembers her final moments. She felt her flesh ripped apart by unforgiving claws and gazed at the departing snickering shadow. She could feel the blood gushing out of her wounds with each heartbeat, and hear the sobs and cries of shock of her clanmates as they gathered around her small, broken body. Rei remembers her father skidding to a stop beside her and gently lifting her for the last time, his head bowed and shoulders shaking. Rei's mother's scream reverberated across the beach. Rei felt her father's talons grasp her own. He gave them a reassuring squeeze. He refused to let them go as their healer, Iason, sprinted to the scene to survey her wounds. He sighed as Rei's breath grew more shallow. The healer bowed his head in utter defeat; Rei's mother snarled venomous words at him, but he shook his head. Rei gazed at him with glassy eyes in understanding. Iason gently grasped her other talons and squeezed them like her father. She would miss him, she would have tutored under him. Nothing could be done. The assassin's claws had ripped out her vitals in a way that it would kill her quickly with little time for pain. Rei wouldn't have called it thoughtful, but he could've made her last breath excruciating.
Over her ragged breaths, Rei could hear the soft giggle of the waves rubbing on the beach. She could also feel the shuffle of her gathered clanmates as they slunk away to leave her with her parents. The sunset bled into the dying sky. How symbolic... Rei thought faintly. She looked up into her parent's soaked gazes. Don't cry. Rei could feel her own tears running down her fair face. She tried to talk, but her vocal chords were gone. Only blood slunk out of her slackened jaws. It finally hit her. I don't want to die. Rei was scared. Her breath shuddered and her body rattled as she fought for breath through her shredded throat. Dark shadows prowled at the edge of her vision. Her father's scales felt strangely cold as he cradled her, and her mother's gentle talons stroked her forehead. Rei heard a voice in her head lulling her, Lay down your head and rest... But Rei didn't want to rest. She still had so much to do. She was so young. Rei tried to look into her parent's eyes for the last time, but the darkness finally leapt from the edges of her sapphire eyes and blocked her blurred vision. Rei fell still. Her head lolled to the side with a sigh. Rei's talons started to slip from her father's grip, but he refused to let them go. Her mother continued stroking her daughter, sobbing softly. Rei's body would hold her spirit no longer. She was so... tired...
Rei had to admit that watching her clan carry her body far away and leave it there wasn't the most upsetting thing that had happened to her that week. She was finding it hard to concentrate on her own funeral thanks to her talons. She could see through them. Rei also found it strange that she was almost always hovering without using her wings. She was constantly floating through walls, which was kind of a pain. Dragons couldn't see her, but they would always complain of hearing the tiny laughter of bells when she moved around, or spoke. Hatchlings, on the other hand, constantly talked to her like she was their nest mate. She enjoyed having lengthy conversations with them about which toy should marry who. This greatly disturbed her clanmates, seeing the hatchlings talk to her and use her name, but Rei was lonely enough to not care. But, hatchlings grow up, and Rei found herself pushed to the backs of their minds as an imaginary friend. Oh well. Rei wasn't exactly sure why she hadn't ascended to be with Tidelord, but she could wait. Her clan still needed her.
Days into weeks, weeks into months, months into years, and Rei still wasn't ascended. She assumed it was because she was murdered in cold blood, and that she didn't know who or why. Rei was surprised that even though she was murdered as a hatchling, she still aged as a spirit. Puberty sucked. What kind of spirit even goes through puberty? She had to be moody and hormonal without any dragons noticing her teen angst. But it passed. It seemed everything passed by her (literally). She watched her clan grow tired of the lair and move on, and so she moved on as well. The beach outside the abandoned lair was too painful. Rei wanted a change of scenery, so she moved herself to a cave in the Ashfall Waste. She was alone, until a Guardian by the name of Redrum and her mate Aslan moved into the cave. Rei now had front row seats to observe a pair of dragons grow into a clan. A new clan, a new chance. But still, nobody noticed her pitiful existence.

Rei's fortune: You died young, you speak to the young. The bells, the bells. They forgot you, they left you. The bells, the bells. A new pair, a new chance. The bells, the bells.

Her lore is absolutely lovely! Tragic, but wonderfully written nonetheless. The descriptions are absolutely beautiful!

Watching the sun pass by.
The bleeding colors faded as with living memories,
Slowly dissipating from the waves and sky.
Dawn rose upon a place of embers,
Giving the spirit yet another chance—
Alas only a child could acknowledge her presence,
No others giving the soft chimes a chance.
