Biography
Clanbook : Imperials
- The shed essence of the Lightweaver was finite, so once it was used in the original creation, it was all gone, no new imperials can be made due to lack of materials.
- This has led to cultural superstitions among them for not wishing to lose their essence, via their shed antlers, clipped manes, shed scales.
- Incidentally, this explains their distaste for Pealcatchers, who wantonly slobber their body fluids out and then carry it around, as though that is the same thing as keeping themselves complete.
- Emperors form from the bodies and miscellaneous bits of dead Imperials.
- Imperials consume their own shed horns and scales -to retain as much of their essence as possible, as well as the fear that antler-castings may give rise to bone-emperors.
- Imperials move the dead and dying, and their "burial rites" are unknown to the other breeds of dragons.
-Imperials can scent out carrion from many miles away, in keeping with being able to fly for weeks on end, and un-Clanned imperials routinely sneak into Clans at night to steal any imperial corpses that are being improperly buried by their non-Imperial clanmates.
- Imperials eat the bodies of the dead, ritualistically dividing up corpses to evenly spread the lingering essence to living imperials in attendance.
- This behavior incidentally helps prevent the occurrence of emperors and tends to limit the size of any who do manage to form.
Named Diamanti by his parents.
Renamed Ji-Min by himself. 志 (ji) for "will, purpose, ambition" and 敏 (min) meaning "quick, clever, sharp". He will sometimes sign his name as 智 (ji) meaning "wisdom, intellect" combined with 旼 (min) meaning "gentle, affable", to throw off anyone who may know too much about him.
Purchased from breeder for 25k on June 12, 2017
2ngen purebred Imperial - His parents were "born" Imperial (breeder no longer remembers their starter breeds). He is pure imperial traits, unmmared by phenotypic holdovers from prior breeds (re: the Fae delicacy and Tundra... ahem... of Kyouki for example).
Tends towards magical arts, but is afraid that using them will drain his mana/essence and shorten his life. He's gone the wizard route and works with externalizing magical sources, rather than use his own reserves. This could go either way on the sliding scale of evil to good.

Quote:
Imperials were Light's first children, an amalgamation of bone, blood, and the shed essence of the Lightweaver - excavated from ancient battle sites of the First Age. This reclaimed essence was a finite resource; no new Imperials have been shaped by the gods in a millennia. ... These dragons have incredibly unpredictable lifespans. Some individuals live only a decade, while others thrive for hundreds of years.

Each wyrm boasts a coarse mane that must be trimmed regularly, and a pair of many-pronged antlers that are shed and consumed each season.
Quote:
Emperor dragons are danger on a battlefield where many Imperials have fallen. These ghastly behemoths are a mindless monstrosity, fused from the bodies of fallen Imperials with some specimens known to have reached over 100 meters in length.
