Biography
From Wyvern’s Lair: PURE G2 IMP (1/3 Colours)
I named her after one of my favourite albums: Transmissions by Starset. Listening to it gave me a little boost in a lore direction too, so she's maybe a pseudo-fandragon :D Plus, I'm really happy with how her genes turned out! She was 300g too.
Getting a Gen 1 Imp for me is pretty much impossible, so I went on a small quest to obtain the next best thing. She might not be small digits or the first of a clutch or anything super special, I still love her :3
Transmissions is an alien entity that crash-landed on the edge of the Viridian Labyrinth from far beyond the known galaxy. She was rescued by a small team from the Lair of Many References where she now resides. The odd patterning across her wings and back function as a camouflage generator, projecting an image of a beautiful Imperial for all to see rather than her true form. She is able to communicate via the translation module around her neck and understand others via feedback loop from the prominent green antennae on her forehead. Without the translator however, she finds it difficult to understand the many linguistical terms her antennae picks up, though the translator module itself can be set to any of the many draconic languages. Many verbal concepts did and still confuse her to this day, she is often saying things conceptually wrong even though her grammar is fairly accurate. The Lair's astronomer, Tourmaline, has a major crush on her that she's unaware of. His roommate, the fallen heavenly body Polaris, hasn't told her yet either.

Glancing out her pod window at the planet no longer able to sustain life, she plugged in the coordinates without hesitation as they were read off by the mysterious voice. She knew this journey was a long shot and that death was always a possibility, however, death was a certainty should she remain on this doomed planet. Although mournful for her home, the possibility of a new, better life gave her hope and she could only wish for these supposedly accepting strangers to be open to her.

Transmissions got her name because it is easier to pronounce than her true one (which has too many syllables to count). It also fits with her origin nicely: when asked to explain further into her backstory she mentioned that her ship had picked up frequencies from the Starfall Isles which had caused her to map a course for Sornieth. Of course, she hadn’t planned for the gravitational pull of the planet's rotation and had ended up off-course.
Her trajectory was first noticed by the Lair’s primary astronomer, Tourmaline, and his assistant Polaris one night whilst he was graphing the newer stars that had formed a few months prior. Transmissions was rescued from her wreckage by him and the Lair’s cyborg mechanic, Technetium. Verdigris and Neptune were also on hand, though the coatl had issues eroding through the material and the Ridgeback ran off with a lot of stuff. Her voice modulator and camouflage generator, were damaged so she could not properly communicate her distress. The gathered dragons knew bringing Transmissions as is to the rest of the Lair would spook a lot of the...simpler minded, so whilst Himalaya treated Transmissions for damage in the wider Labyrinth (trying her best to get the extra-terrestrial to understand she was helping her) Tech worked tirelessly to repair her technology. It was hard going, especially since Neptune refused to return most of his scavenged goods (he’d eaten them). Matilda had to be brought into the small conspiracy because she had a couple of books on the Space Age Tourmaline didn’t. They were also confused by the filing system the tundra had put in place in the library.
Eventually though, Transmissions was given her things back and promised a safe return to the stars once Tech learnt how to build a spaceship. Transmissions, now fully disguised and able to communicate, declined however. She explained that she was an ex-Ambassador (of a race she could not put into draconic language) escaping a doomed planet and was in need of a new home. She did not have the technology to conquer either, so peaceful methods were preferred.
The others, more than happy to indulge her, brought her to the progens and explained everything. Eurydice was weary of her ‘true’ intentions and unimpressed that such a creature flew under her radar, but Juniper was welcoming. As long as they all agreed Transmissions was simply an imperial who had come to stay, like so many Lair inhabitants before her. She spends her time sometimes with Technetium, helping develop new technologies to power the Lair. She also visits Tourmaline and Polaris, the latter coming to call, but is unaware of the crush the Wildclaw has on her. Every so often she'll pop into the library to speak to Matilda...she's rather fond of the non-fiction sections. Also, as a gesture of goodwill during the Mistral Jamboree (Transmission's 1st festival in TLoMR), Guinevere has donated one of her newest dress designs!

During the initial evacuation of her home planet, she could have used her influence and professed nobility to help the less fortunate into taking priority on the escape ships. She instead used her status to push to the front of the queues, procure one for herself, and blast off without any regards for the lives she left behind. Though she has tried to move on, this selfish act haunts her to this day.

Transmissions is the debut studio album by American rock band Starset, released on July 8, 2014 through Razor & Tie. Three singles were released in support of the album; "My Demons", "Carnivore", and "Halo", all charting in the top 20 of the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Transmissions is a concept album. The album was produced by Rob Graves and mixed by Ben Grosse.
