Ternion hatched a Skydancer, lived for two moons as a Tundra then completed his orbit to that of a Bogsneak. He was born with the talents of detecting magical energy and discerning the emotions and dispositions of others of the first breed. He retains the knowledge of scents of the Tundra and now experiences the extraordinary night vision of a Bogsneak. He uses his talents to benefit the members of his sub-species and the other members of his weyr. There is a small remnant of the bony sphere that is visible on Skydancers on his forehead.

Ternion learned from the path his mother followed, hatching as a Guardian then shapeshifting to a Bogsneak before laying her initial nest, of which he is first-hatched. Ternion's father, born a Skydancer, changed his own genetic appearance. The runes he displays are the incantations of this power, which he passed on to his sons allowing them to continue their parents' story into their own. His name means 'a set or group of three'; synonym to triad. The nest from which he hatched had three eggs. His identifying number has three threes.
