DESCRIPTION
Gray loves to create. Possessing both a brilliant mind and a restless spirit, she began to create when she was still quite young. She loved metalwork and engineering in particular, but her skillset grew wider and wider with age. Creation fueled her, driving her to acquire new skills and try new things.
TShe considered new ways of living, and new ways of thinking. Her life gradually transformed, becoming more distant from friends and family while she devoted more time to her projects. She became withdrawn, eccentric...unhinged. All of this was in service of creation.
Her brilliance grew, but her habits became ever stranger. She held herself aloof. She spoke less. She cared less about her own well-being. She was more interested in her inner life, in the high-minded world dwelling within her own heart.
Eventually, it landed her here. According to Gray, it’s for the best. She’d given up on the outside world long before, choosing instead to devote herself single-mindedly to her passions. That’s what she usually says, anyhow. She shares Herondale’s workshop, chatting idly while she morphs metal and braids wires, entranced by the crackling of electricity and enticed by the scent of sparks. While she works, those sparks dance against her snout and spill across the floor like raindrops. It’s a comforting constant, and the slight sting feeds her excitement.
“It was an accident, you know,” she’ll sometimes say. Herondale just nods.
