Lin

Musician and linguist, speaks multiple languages and writes poems and songs in all of them. Has no love for the clan's violent ways and wishes that they would solve all disputes peacefully, but approves of their diversity and tolerance. He is often sent out as a diplomat, even though he knows it will usually be pointless. When not writing music he keeps the clan's books and records their words for posterity. Possesses a beautiful singing voice, and serenades the clan with Sonata around the evening fires. All of his and Rattlesnake's children are named after the notes on the solfège scale, for when they are old enough to leave the clan they choose to join their deities and be a part of their heavenly choir.

Like other peaceful dragons mated to a warrior, Lin worries for Rattlesnake when she goes out to fight. Her wild and ferocious nature makes her reckless in battle, preferring to use brute strength rather than strategy. As a result, she often comes back home sporting many injuries, which Lin will usually tend. He fears that someday her injuries will be too severe to treat, or that she might not come home at all. Although she assures him that she will be fine and he tries not to let his concern show too much, he spends much of their time apart praying for her safety. It confuses many as to why such a peaceful dragon would settle down with one so aggressive, but Lin has seen the innocent, playful side of Rattlesnake more than most, and loves being able to bring that out of her.
