Biography
Named after Zinnia elegans, a purple-y flower :3 If I were to describe her personality it would be a bit like a nicer version of Zira's from The Lion King 2. Or possibly pre-emancipation (but still Harleen in mindset) Harley-Quinn? Less murder-y but just as devoted, just quietly cos she's still torn about betraying her clanmates entirely cx
Zinnia is Belladonna's apprentice, versed in a few witchy ways but not overly good at it. Initially, she had been the one to bring Alduin his rations in prison, having persuaded the Witches to give her a chance and banking on Belladonna's good graces. However, the more she visited the Shade Worshipper, the more she fell into obsession. Zinnia is the only dragon to be accepted by Alduin as a true mate (despite him having previous relations with Ariadne) and even then, the Progens decreed that hatchlings were not allowed to stay long. They were to be given to the Gladekeeper in assurance that the Lair of Many References had not succumbed to the Shade-worshipper's words. One hatchling survived however. He was named Orion, after the great hunter in the sky. Orion went on to have children, one of which, Parishii, now resides in the Lair under close observation.
Zinnia herself is reluctant to comment about her coupling, but there is no hiding her fondness for Alduin when she speaks of him, leading many to worry about her allegiance. It remains to be seen whether or not she will defect to his side, but if she does, she'll be the one to release him from his prison. After all, Zinnia's life has hardly ever been her own, devoted in one way or another to some sort of cause. A bleeding heart is easy prey. It's a pity she fell for a criminal, but her willingness to see the best in Alduin cannot be helped. She's even changed her appearance at his whim, opting for a stronger, sturdier body should her love ever call her into action.

Zinnia elegans,known as youth-and-age, common zinnia or elegant zinnia, an annual flowering plant of the genus Zinnia, is one of the best known zinnias. It is native to Mexico but grown as an ornamental in many places and naturalised in several places including scattered locations in South and Central America, the West Indies, the United States, Australia, and Italy. The uncultivated plant grows to about 30 in (76 cm) in height. It has solitary flower heads about 2 inches (5 cm) across. The purple ray florets surround black and yellow discs.
