Astral

Backstory: Astral is the astral projection of a Ridgeback named Terra, who currently resides in Clan Surefire. Terra wished to travel the world and learn from other cultures but was unable to due to her responsibilities at home. Instead she trained herself and eventually was able to project a physical copy of herself. This copy was near identical and had almost all the same capabilities that Terra did. But the only thing that mattered was that it could see and experience things. The copy was named Astral and was sent out into the world alone. Terra would life a double life from then on, seeing it though two sets of eyes... Travel Log:

Astral traveled idly through the world, dizzied by the early experiences of her life. There wasn't much worth to record of her experiences, at least not at first: most of the tales she'd come across went without a record, and it wasn't until she reached the brilliant lands of the Lightweaver, that something truly unusual finally occurred.

The ruins were tempting in their own right, mysterious and riddled by Beastclans as they were. As Astral entered them, she felt a wave of nausea, but despite her initial gut feeling, she pressed on.

A contrasting darkness swallowed her up as she explored deeper in the catacomb complex, running into a few enemies, perishing to none. Far, far down, she heard a strange noise, and upon following it, she found that she wasn't the only one to go spelunking in this strange place: a Tundra met her gaze, carrying a torch and a sack of treasure.

"Name's Supersonic," she introduced herself, "Say, this place is a bit dangerous, innit? Whattabout we keep company for a while, hm?"


After a number of adventures and misadventures, Astral found herself once again in Light territory. Relating some of these to her hosts, Rhonwen concluded that Astral ought to know something about bashing heads... er, more properly speaking, how to defend herself.

Since she herself was busy training the clan's honored exaltees, the Ridgeback enlisted the help of her friends The Twins. They sent her off as a Level 10 dragon.

Astral had been itching to see the Sea of a Thousand Currents since her form hat first been created, and finally she arrived at the shores of the great inland sea on a warm autumn day, the sea sparkling like jewels in the sun. She settled on a rocky outcrop to enjoy the vista and had almost dozed off to the lullaby of crashing waves and seabirds' calls when a seaweed-covered gaoler suddenly emerged from the water, startling her awake. The gaoler explained that she was in the territory of clan Taverbi, a resting stop for many travelling dragons from across Sornieth. Excited to hear stories of places near and far, Astral followed her to the clan's lair. She spent days hearing tales from a herd of nomadic snappers whose ancestral migration routes covered the world, and other travelling dragons who, like her, were using the Taverbi clan as a rest stop between the realms of the Tidelord and Shadowbinder. Finally she was ready to move on, thanking the clan for their hospitality and the parcel of food and supplies they gave her to help her on her way.

Astral came across a (mostly) friendly, diverse clan in her travels - the most interesting part about it were these fungal slime dragons, apparently called ' Amalgamates '. They were mostly separated from the others for fear that they'd accidentally turn more dragons into amalgamates with spores. Interesting..
