This mutated horror houses within her body an unholy brood of wasp-like spawn which are birthed from her flesh, leaving it forever oozing and raw. These flying creatures make for excellent scouts, spies, and sentries.

Previously she had made a pact with a powerful nature shaman, which allowed her to control insectile and arachnid demons as Hive Mother. This hive of demons secured the prisoners of the Thawed Depths after Ayna and Donvurma were exiled from the clan, and the once-frozen halls began to melt. However, she failed catastrophically in her duties twice and was removed from her position as warden.

She was bitter about her failure and removal, and Sovri knew she could not be trusted after being removed. Her in-depth knowledge of the prison and lowest reaches below the Bonestrewn Crest meant she could not be permitted to go freely from the clan. So Sovri took her into his own keeping, and used her own hive to bind her to his will, changing both her and it into something new.

The Shade's Witness - Her First Failure
Sovri slid down into the deeper tunnels and was met with a damp and mouldering scent. The air was cold and wet. Sovri had to step lightly and carefully to navigate the partially flooded chambers. It was vastly different now than it had been under the care of the Ice Witch, but it would still be years before everything completely thawed.
Sovri stopped in the main chamber. There sat Majka and her adopted daughter, both surrounded by chimes made from crystallized blood. Between them was a brazier which warmed the entrance and filled it with a dim light. The hideous pearlcatcher bowed low to the ground, but Kulm didn't notice the King's approach. Her eyes were fixed upon the shadowed passage with led farther down. She startled when the king spoke.

The Thawed Depths - Her Second Failure
Once there was a prison below the Rotrock Rim where the Clan of Singing Blood made its lair.
It was a place where blood did not flow. It was far too cold for that. Still, you could hear blood singing, as the frozen halls of the White Prison were decorated with chimes of crystallized blood. It was little sliver of the Icewarden's domain in the heart of the Scarred Wasteland.

This place was Ayna's domain. She was the keeper of the White Prison serving as the Clan's Warden, guarding over the strangest and most dangerous of the clan's enemies. Her true purpose, however, was just as much to keep the Queen out as the prisoners in. When this was discovered she was expelled from the White Prison. 		lore_ice9268676.png
Once the wardens of Ice were removed and the elemental forces of Ice were withdrawn, the breached prison began to thaw. The White Prison became the Thawed Depths. Majka was brought in to secure the prisoners previously encased in ice.

She did this for a long time, keeping at bay the things which the Icewarden had buried there in some unknown past, and trapping the unfortunate newcomers brought to her domain for various crimes and dire transgressions. It was thought to be secure, but then the Gaoler Villain arrived, and broke into the prison, slipping past her both in, and out again. Although Villain did no harm during his visit, he proved that Majka was unfit to guard the prison, and the Queen named Villain the new Warden.

The Shattered Pearl - Her Final Failure
After she was removed as Warden, the king discovered that she was also at fault for the entity which invaded the Scarwind Keep, and did incredible damage to Peryite and Roden. The thing had escaped from the Thawed Depths due to a lapse in her security. The fact alone swept away the mercy that Sovri would have offered her.
