Originating from deep within the void above, Astaroth was initially a microscopic parasite borne in the freezing wastes of a far away planet. Upon entering the atmosphere and crashing to the surface of the Wyrmwound, he awoke. Days upon days passed by as he lay helpless on the surface of this foreign earth, writhing against the dry soil below. After managing to claim enough nutrients from passing insects, he was mobile enough to drag himself to a nearby lair, wherein he found his new home. Feasting on the unfortunate outcasts that wandered the barren lands, he soon grew to a large enough size to lay claim to a better self. Among the dry scrubland and dust, he came across the form of an Imperial badly battered by years of disease. Upon the dragon's final rasping breath, he entered the discarded husk of what once was, forming a symbiotic bond with his serpentine body. Having gotten used to his new form, (following many failed attempts at getting all four limbs to work correctly,) Astaroth found his way to that same lair once again. This time, he was greeted by a wizened Skydancer of a violet hue who dropped to bow at his feet. As time passed, he became known as a ruthless God that showed no mercy to those below him, overtaking the self-proclaimed king and casting him out to the fringes of his territory, cursing him with unending night terrors.
